Located in the beautiful Nantahala National Forest, where breathtaking Mountains, valleys, streams and spectacular Waterfalls abound, Franklin is an official Appalachian Trail friendly destination. We have multiple access points to the AT for short or long hikes. Rich in gems and minerals and known as the âGem Capital of the World," here in Franklin, gem-mining is an activity enjoyed by visitors of all ages. Downtown shopping, antique browsing, and quality restaurants are all within 12 minutes of this ideal vacation cabin. And if you want to explore further, a day trip to Highlands, Asheville, Atlanta or Nashville is within comfortable driving distance. Harrah's Cassino too is a short 40 minute drive.
