Outstanding stay at the Rock House at High Frontier in Fort Davis. The setting is exceptional, with sweeping mountain and canyon views, incredible stargazing, and a peaceful, secluded feel.The home is comfortable and well-designed, with a rustic interior, cozy fireplace, and large windows that bring the desert landscape inside. It is perfectly located to explore McDonald Observatory, Marfa, and Big Bend National Park.Maggie, the property manager, was excellent. Very responsive and made everything seamless.Highly recommend for anyone looking to experience West Texas with both comfort and authenticity.

Perfect house

The four of us loved staying at this house. It was perfect for a gathering place with other family members staying at the state park. The kitchen was well equipped, beautiful property to explore and the fireplace was ideal. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Weekend in West Texas for the Observatory

What a great property, great views, and very comfortable. My family and another family of four stayed for the weekend to enjoy Fort Davis and the MacDonald observatory. Highly recommend staying here. Beautiful stars at night very quiet and wonderful fresh air.

Beautiful cabin! Would highly recommend! The king sized beds in each bedroom with their own bathroom was very convenient. The beds were super comfy, the views were spectacular, and the cabin had everything we needed. Great mini-vacation!

Hidden Hideaway

Great 2 night stay. Convenient to the Chihuahuan Desert Research Institute and McDonald Observatory, although the star show from the property was already unmatched! Very clean, spacious and comfortable. Hope to return with family/friends!

Great cabin!

Loved this place, wish we could have stayed more than one night. 3 bedrooms were the perfect number for the 4 of us. The balcony was so wonderful, I could have spent hours there. The cabin is off the beaten path, but that made it more peaceful. Thank you, Maggie.

We loved our stay at the Rock House with all of its windows and views. The bedrooms all had their own bathroon, which was great. I would highly recommend this house and look forward to returning.

Wonderful Cabin!

The views and cabin exceeded our expectations. Truly one of the most gorgeous spots Texas had to offer. We had a small maintenance issue and the host’s team could not have been kinder or quicker to respond. We hope to return!

Rock House Cabin

Rock House Cabin was Great! 5-Stars for sure.Only thing that could make it better, would be to put up a game feeder out in the pasture. We watched 14-Elk the next canyon over to the south-west, Mule deer and 2-Aoudad Rams, would be nice to watch wildlife closer on the 20-acres! Look forward to next stay!
