Experience peace, quiet and fresh air on George's Lake! Quiet cottage on large, tranquil lake perfect for swimming, fishing and boating. Sunsets are incredible from the deck and star-gazing on the dock is magical. Grill out, unplug and let your cares float away in our low-key cottage.

Close to Gainesville, Palatka, Melrose, Keystone and just a stone's throw from Jacksonville, the lake house feels like a world away but it doesn't take forever to get here!
The space
This is a low-key, no frills lake cottage where the main focus is unplugging and enjoying the great outdoors. The cottage is clean and comfortable but it's not the Ritz Carlton! George's Lake is casual, laid back and country. If you love to fish, boat, swim or just read a book, you'll love it here!

We've got a living room with cozy seating and big windows overlooking the lake and our long fishing dock. There's an eat-in kitchen, a mudroom to store wet floats and soggy shoes and a fire pit for cool nights.

We're on a dirt road right along the lake. Onsite parking will fit 4 vehicles.

FAQ
1. Is fishing gear or boating equipment available?
No, please bring your own!. There is a public boat ramp .

2. Do you have a grill?
Yes. Don't forget to bring charcoal and lighter.

3. Where is the closest grocery store?
Hitchcock's, Harvey's, Dollar General are nearby. If you want to really stock up, there are Walmarts, Targets and Winn Dixies on the way in! Please note there are no delivery services out here - no Instacart or Uber Eats.

4. Is all bedding provided?
Yes, pillows, sheets, blankets, towels, etc.

5. What about alligators and snakes?
While we have rarely seen gators and snakes in 40+ years at our property, in Florida, there's always a chance you might meet some of the locals. Keep a sharp eye on pets and kids, don't swim after dusk, don't leave food outside overnight and if you do see a critter, please don't feed them. (It's illegal! And it's almost surely a death sentence for the animal.)

All outdoor activities by nature come with risk and by booking our cottage, you assume those risks.
There are 3 exterior security cameras on the property. They cover the dock, deck and parking/walkway.
