🛶 7 min walk - Exeters historic Quay which offers a range of contemporary cafes, bars, restaurants, pizzerias and local shops. Enjoy all these whilst watching the beautiful swans and ducks play in the River Exe.
🧗 The Quay also has an indoor climbing centre for the more adventurous and also the opportunity to hire a Kayak or canoe at Saddles & Paddles. This is great fun. You can paddle down river to the famous double locks pub, moor up and pop in for lunch or a drink then paddle back. This is a great afternoon out on the river.
🏙️ 10 minute walk to Exeter City Centre
The high st also hosts lots of Exeter's most popular bars and nightclubs (Timepiece,The Terrace,Unit 1, The Vaults)
Gandy st (just off the high st) provides more niche and funky theme bars plus the legendary Cavern club for Live music acts. This club has been a well-loved venue in the city since 1991. Known for hosting bands like The 1975's to solo artists like George Ezra to name but a few.

Entry - Via lockbox. Code will be supplied with full check in details the day before your arrival.

Parking - On request we do have available the use of our free off site car park which is just a short 10min walk from the cottage. This is a secure car park with a camera recognition system in place. If you require this, simply send us your registration details on booking and we'll upload them for you. Please bear in mind it is a 10min walk away but you can pull up outside of the cottage to drop off bags or anyone of your party.


Getting around - With its fantastic location. The cottage has numerous bus/train routes and stops nearby. Also, a taxi can be with you in no time at all. Also food deliveries can be with you at all times of the day and night.



Our operations team are extremely responsive should and questions or issues arise and will be on hand to help asap via message within the hours of 8am-9pm.



24/7 emergency calls are available should there be something that can't wait until the morning

River Exe Cottage sits by the River Exe and is situated in the heart of Exeter which is the historic capital of Devon. In its bustling centre, you'll find elegant Georgian architecture and a distinctive mix of modern restauarnts, traditional pubs, state-of-the-art performance spaces and grungy music venues. Exeter's centre is fairly compact and most of its best attractions are within easy walking distance of each other.

Exeter is great place to be if you like shopping. Don't miss the award-winning Princesshay Quarter, in the heart of the city. Here you'll find top High Street brands. For some of the city's more interesting independant shops and a nice selection of cafes, head to Gandy Street. The elegant Cathedral Quarter is home to some of the city's best restaurants, boutiques and pavement cafes. Don't miss the excellent Christmas Market, on cathedral green during th ewinter months.

For the walker, Dartmoor National Park is only a short drive away. Combining endless trails, tors and breathless views.
