Welcome to Gran’s Cabins on Flathead Lake – Dora’s Cabin

Relax and unwind at Dora’s Cabin, a pet-friendly 1-bedroom, 1-bath retreat on private property in Elmo, Montana, right on the shores of beautiful Flathead Lake. Dora’s Cabin is one of two short-term rentals on the property, offering privacy while still being part of a friendly, shared setting.

Guests can enjoy 150 feet of private lake frontage, perfect for swimming, sunbathing, or simply relaxing while taking in the peaceful lake views. (Please note: swim at your own risk—there is no lifeguard on duty.)

Flathead Lake water levels are managed by the Seli'š Ksanka Qlispe' (SKQ) Dam, with the goal of reaching a full pool elevation of 2,893 feet by mid-June each year. Weather patterns and seasonal conditions can affect lake levels, and Energy Keepers Inc. manages dam operations to balance irrigation, recreation, and power generation needs. The lake is typically lowered by about 10 feet during the winter months.

Inside, Dora’s Cabin has everything you need for a comfortable stay:

* Small kitchen stocked with utensils and cooking equipment, hot Plate
* BBQ grill for easy outdoor meals
* Futon couch in the living area that can sleep up to two additional guests

The cabin itself is private, but outdoor spaces are shared with guests staying in the second cabin and with our family, who occasionally stay in on-site RVs. Shared amenities include the lawn, beach access, dock, gazebo, fire pit, and parking area.

We provide firewood and hotdog roasting sticks so you can enjoy a cozy evening around the fire.

Guests also have access to kayaks, paddleboard, and other water recreation equipment. Use of this equipment at your own risk, and the property owners are not liable for accidents or injuries.

Sunrises over Flathead Lake are absolutely stunning—you won’t want to miss them.

Dora’s Cabin is located just 15–20 minutes from Polson and Lakeside, offering a peaceful base for both adventure and relaxation.

Your hosts stay in an RV on the property and are happy to provide local tips, assistance, or complete privacy—whatever makes your stay most enjoyable. They are more likely to be on-site during peak season. We also have two friendly dogs on the property—a Pomsky and a Collie. They are well-behaved and social, but we’re happy to keep them away if you prefer.

Cabins are cleaned and managed by your host. We may stay in an RV on the property and are happy to provide **local tips, assistance, or complete privacy—whatever makes your stay most enjoyable**. We are more likely to be staying on the property **during peak season**, while visits may be less frequent during quieter times of the year.
