The Glenn on Ovens River

The Glenn on the Ovens River is the perfect private getaway location for couples, families or business trips. Located just 4 kms from the main street and river precinct of Wangaratta you will find this charming farmhouse with everything you need for a relaxing, tranquil getaway. Enjoy all that The Glenn has to offer, whether it's stargazing around the fire pit by night, or enjoying the private sandbank of the Ovens river by day, the options are endless. Boasting a variety of wildlife and native gums, you will never have a dull moment exploring the property and beyond. Nestled perfectly between the surrounding wine region and snow fields, a weekend of exploring the great north east will be a breeze.

- Three large bedrooms (with flexible bedding set up)
- Two bedrooms with split systems, the remaining with a fan or heat panel
- Office with two monitors
- Two living areas
- Open fire place and outdoor fire pit

Work trip

Love staying at this beautiful oasis in the bush! Loads of room beautiful scenery and host is fab! Had a power outage last night like 500,000 other Victorians but our gorgeous host dropped a heavy duty torch and a handful of battery light switches Will be staying again same time next year

A relaxing stay in a gorgeous setting

Our stay at The Glen was wonderful. The house was spotlessly clean with everything we needed for our stay including a well equipped kitchen, comfy beds and air conditioning in every bedroom. We enjoyed swimming, fishing and kayaking from the lovely sandy riverbank on the property. The house is only a few minutes from town but sitting on the verandah surrounded by the grapevines and birdsong feels very secluded and peaceful. The local cows were a highlight for the kids. Our host, Jack, was lovely to communicate with, we just wish we could have stayed longer!

Perfect Farmhouse, Perfect Location

Faultless. Excellent setting with all mod cons, yet retaining the country homestead charm. Loads of room with a variety of recreation spaces inside and outside. Situated on the banks of the Ovens River, yet only a couple of mins from Wangaratta and super easy 30 min drive to Beechworth, King Valley and other places. Super clean. Our summary is: Simply perfect. We are planning our next return visit.

Beautiful spot right on the river!

The Glen is a character home in a tranquil, riverside setting. It is spacious and comfortable, clean and organised and an easy drive to the beautiful historic towns of Beechworth and Chilton. Jack met us on arrival, and was really friendly and helpful with ideas of where to go, and what to do. His inclusions of wine, bread, milk and eggs were well received, and we loved being immersed in the music of the record player! We highly recommend a stay at The Glen on Ovens River!

Girls getaway

Great spot easy drive to all the wineries in the area. Also lovely scenic drives to Mt Buffalo and Bright. Good outdoor areas to sit and relax in the evening . Plenty of chairs and couches too. Fire pit area was good, but it was to warm for us to use. Would be awesome in winter with the stars above. Highly recommend for any type of get together.

Perfect girls weekender

We were looking for something just out of town when I found Jacks place The Glen Just far enough out of town to enjoy the peace and quiet , the house was very clean and extremely well equipped with everything you needed . A bottle of wine and some nice bread on the bench was a nice touch .

Great spot for a group

Beautiful farm house which would be a terrific spot for a group of friends to go, relax and soak up the atmosphere by the fires (outside and in). Everything you need is available to you, including condiments and homewares. Also the added bonus of your own citrus trees - beautiful oranges straight from the tree, yum.

Perfect location for our weekend Ballooning and exploring this stunning area.

Very comfortable beds very homely with excellent welcomeing gifts. Had every thing and more to make this an enjoyable weekend to celebrate my Mums 90-91st birthday . Walking in nature down to the River trying our luck 🐠 fishing was also a treat.

Our Ovens Getaway

The Glen is a credit to Jack who has lovingly restored this beautiful heritage home. Every detail for the guest comfort has been catered for. We stayed thru 42 degree heat and were perfectly comfortable with air con in all bedrooms and living areas. Beautifully furnished and well equipped kitchen and bathrooms. Jack was a wonderful host who provided food and wine on arrival, which was so welcoming. Would recommend to anyone considering a short stay or longer.
