Our popular, peaceful, luxurious rental - which has always maintained a perfect 5 star rating - is now under new management. Newly renovated seaside colonial home from 1924, celebrating New England in the 1920s. Nestled in the peaceful, historical neighborhood of Morris Cove, you will feel like you’ve stepped back in time to a classy and comfortable hideaway that Zelda Fitzgerald, Langston Hughes, or Yale Graduate Gerald Murphy might have enjoyed.

This is a scent-free property.

3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, and high cleaning standards, this home is designed to provide guests with a unique home away from home. The commitment to detail throughout this home is evident in every room. High-end furnishings and modern amenities mix with whimsical decor showing New Haven`s nautical, intellectual, cultural, epicurean, and adventurous history. Nods to Yale University, New Haven Apizza, The Jazz Age, Ships and Sailors, and nearby Tweed Airport abound. The black, white, and gold of Art Deco combine with soft pastels, lush fabrics, and pops of color to create a stunningly appointed space to call home for as long as you’re there.


Views of Long Island Sound from several windows. Seawall and sandy beaches are minutes away, walking or driving. Beach fun, relaxation, some of the best food in America, and exploration are at your doorstep.


Kitchen is equipped with modern appliances and all the amenities for meal preparation. The chic bar area in the dining room allows you to mix up cocktails while listening to a range of vinyl classics from the 1920s onwards on the record player.



Luxurious living room, dining room, and kitchen areas are bathed in natural light and charmingly decorated to make your stay comfortable and memorable.


The exterior matches its charming interior with a luxurious, fully fenced-in yard with a fire-pit table, loveseat, armchairs, ottomans, reclining lounge chairs, side tables/yard boxes, and lawn games.

- Full Bath with tub, shower and scent-free, dye-free, vegan body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, and hair dryer provided.

Lower Level:

- Half bath w/ laundry and access to the backyard.

- For your safety, the house secured by Yale smart locks, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers, and two exterior Ring cameras to monitor the front and back doors. Neither look into any interior or `social` spaces. We do not monitor this camera during guest stays unless we receive a complaint. There are no cameras or listening devices inside the property.

Note: This is a Scent-Free environment. All of our properties are NON-SMOKING. The Jewel of the Cove does not allow candles, incense, plug-ins or vaping in the house, including the covered porch. If there is any evidence of smoking, incense, candles, plug-ins or vaping on the premises, you will be charged $500 plus any remediation cost.

There is room for two cars to park comfortably and quick access to varied transportation options such as busses, the Metro North train line, and Tweed Airport only a few minutes away from the home.

SHORT-TERM RENTAL
It is expressly understood and agreed that this is a Short-Term Rental Agreement and is not a lease or other long term residential tenancy agreement. This Agreement is only for the licensed use of the Property for the stated Term. It creates no property rights of Guests and no rights to renewal or for recurring usage.

NON SMOKING PROPERTY - SCENT FREE PROPERTY

THIS IS A NON-SMOKING, NON-VAPING, and SCENT-FREE PROPERTY. Smoking and vaping of any kind is strictly prohibited anywhere on our property - INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. Smoking and vaping are only allowed on public sidewalks. In addition to no smoking or vaping, this is a Scent-Free environment. The Jewel of the Cove does not allow candles, incense, air fresheners, scented plug-ins, smoking, vaping, etc. anywhere in the house or on the property - indoors or outdoors - including on the covered porch, on the patio, near the grill, anywhere in the backyard, driveway, or near any doors or windows. Smoking and vaping are only allowed on public sidewalks. If there is any evidence of smoking, incense, candles, air fresheners, scented plug-ins, vaping, etc. on the premises, your security and/or damage deposit will be forfeited and you will incur an additional charge (minimum $500) for cleaning, carpet cleaning, and deodorizing. Breaking this rule may result in guest(s) being made to vacate the premises immediately with possible loss of all payments, fees, deposits, and taxes. If we cannot reach the guest that booked the property, an authorized party may show up to require the entire group to vacate the premises immediately.
