Great fall break getaway

I would rebook this property

Had a great stay. Property managers were VERY responsive and cordial. The space was very clean but the large pillows on the bed needed to be washed. I could smell someone's hair. And the backyard furniture had not been cleaned, wiped off to begin the season.

Perfect location

The positives: We loved our stay in Douglas, MI. It was our first time in the area. The location of this rental was perfect. It is walkable to downtown Douglas and the water. Bikes are available to ride to town or Lake Michigan. The house had been nicely updated. There was wood available for the firepit and a hottub. We loved the quaint town of Douglas and that it is a lot quieter than Saugatuck. Every evening after dinner, we would walk around the neighborhood. The two-bedroom and two-bathroom house was perfect for four adults (myself, my spouse, and my parents). The kitchen had plenty of silverware and dishes for eating, and a great dishwasher. The negatives: The master bed sheet did not fit the mattress and kept popping off every night. There were no screens in the main area of the house, so when we wanted to open windows, I was afraid of bugs. I called the rental property to inquire and never heard back. The kitchen has a very limited supply of pots, pans, etc. for cooking. (On a positive note, there are lots of great places to eat out) Overall, it was clean enough—not "hotel" clean, but clean enough. With all that being said, we would definitely stay in this rental again. Now we know to bring a few pans for cooking when we do not feel like eating out and a set of king sheets. Thank you for a lovely stay in Douglas, MI :)

What a treasure!

One of the best weekends away in a long time! Private and relaxing hot tub under party lights, large fire pit, plus a fireplace, inside next to a huge tv for a movie at night. And just one block to upscale, wonderful shops and restaurants. We loved it here!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the S.S. Katamazoo! The home was lovely, matched the description, and was ideally located. The “Cat” prints were hysterical! Downtown Douglas is Wonderful! From the restaurants to the shops and bowling alley; we just loved the entrepreneurial vibe. We usually stay in Saugatuck, but now we prefer Douglas!

Perfect!

This was my first time using Vrbo or any vacation rental. Property was exactly as described and shown in photos. Excellent communication with property managers. Location was exactly what we wanted. Everything worked out for us despite glitch with not being able to get the dishwasher started on departure date—so sorry about that! Wonderful property in a fantastic location. No issues on our end.

Lovely and well-equipped in an amazing location

One of the best rentals I've stayed at in a long time! Both indoor and outdoor amenities were well taken care of and came fully equipped. Everything we needed was right there, and the grocery store to stock up is just a couple blocks away. Highly recommended!

Great place!

Block from downtown, and less than 10 min drive to Lake Michigan beach. House was clean and very accommodating! Loved the hot tub, board games, and using the bikes to ride around the neighborhood. Highly recommend!

Great Vacation Home

We loved our stay! The home is as advertised, clean, and well-appointed. The location is fantastic and served as a great hub for my family as we traveled between Grand Haven, Holland, and Saugatuck. I would recommend a stay here!

A gorgeous home in a great (and quiet) location!

The review title kind of says it all—this house is very clean and up-to-date with all the modern conveniences; it's a short walk from everything in Douglas, and a short drive from downtown Saugatuck. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
