This home away from home is perfect for families and friends visiting Des Moines. The CapeCod style home is steps away from The Waveland Cafe. Quick access to I235 which will get you in and around Des Moines in minutes! We are nestled in a quiet neighborhood close to Drake University and downtown.
The kitchen is the heart of this 1500 sq foot home. The kitchen connects the spacious living area to the separate dining room, as well as 2 bedrooms and a full bathroom. The main suite, located upstairs, features a queen sized bed and 3 piece bathroom.
The basement provides an additional bedroom and 3 piece bathroom with laundry as well as a bonus room. There is plenty of off street parking available at the house.

This is an adorable little home close to the Beaverdale area of Des Moines. Not far from the university and perfect for our trip, which took us to the downtown farmers market, Jordan Creek shopping center, restaurants throughout the city and even a trip to the outlet mall. The location was perfect. The four bedrooms were wonderful and the idea of having three full baths made the trip enjoyable with teenage girls.It was a great use of space in a small home.We will be checking availability next time we travel back to the Des Moines area.

This house was absolutely perfect for our stay in Des Moines! We were there for a family gathering of relatives from across the US and we needed a space centrally located with room for one parent, two grown kids, and a small dog. The house, yard, and parking space was more than adequate with four bedrooms, all beautifully appointed. The kitchen and dining area was great, and the living room was spacious and welcoming.

Beds comfortable, central location, lots of dishes and cooking equipment. Many nice extras: snacks for hungry young adults after long drive not wanting to go shopping after long drive. Coffee provided. Internet could have been better.

State Fair Stay

Perfect size for our stay. Showing sheep at state fair and nice having four bedrooms for everyone and three bathrooms. Snacks that were available were perfect for everyone after a very long day traveling and at the fair. Great washing machine and dryer for doing laundry. Deer greeted us one morning and one evening. Really enjoyed our stay!!

I booked based upon the stellar reviews but honestly was thinking, “It can’t be that great”. I’m the first to admit I was wrong. This place is absolutely perfect for a stay away from home. Great neighborhood, great house, easy access to interstate, and the snacks Miriam left just made it feel like she cares. Will stay here again without a doubt

Host was very quick to respond and very accommodating to our travel times for check in. House was as described and very clean and in a quiet area. Also, as an added bonus snacks and drinks were provided which the kids loved. Would not hesitate if back in the area to stay here again.

Comfortable home for family visit

We enjoyed our stay at this property. We had two couples and used the bedrooms and bathrooms on the first and second floors. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well. The living room was great for relaxing and talking; we also made use of the kitchen and dining room. The home was clean and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again.

Super Des Moines VRBO!

My family enjoyed a wonderful week at this property. The location is handy for any destination in the Des Moines metro area as the freeway is just a couple blocks away. There are several grocery stores, bakery, coffee shops, even a playground, within a 6 block radius and the neighborhood is safe and walkable. The house is great for use by several generations (we had grandma, adult children & grandchildren) because there are multiple living areas. It was absolutely spotless and we found a large basket of snacks upon arrival! We will definitely return!!

A great home with an owner who cares

It would have been more than enough to stay in a place that checked the boxes - clean, near points of interest, comfortable, nice neighborhood. What makes this place special are the personal touches. A variety of snacks that seem to be the ones you want. The decorations that show a pride in Des Moines and Iowa. A selection of name brand amenities. Sheets and towels soft to the touch. And much more! All of this is due to the owner, Miriam, who made us feel welcome. It's obvious that she cared about making our stay special. I'm guessing she feels that way about all of her quests. I don't rend to "firewall" 5 stars. This place deserved the ratings. I would happily stay here again. I highly recommend you choose this home for your visit to Des Moines!

Graduation Getaway

We were in town for our son’s graduation from Iowa State University. Our stay was phenomenal. The house was perfect and our host was amazing. The house is very clean, spacious and very well appointed. We were traveling as a family with 6 adults and the house allowed the three couples their own bedrooms and bathrooms! Our host thought of everything She even left homemade cookies decorated in Iowa State colors congratulating us on our Son’s graduation. We highly recommend this location for anyone visiting the Des Moines area!!

Great place to stay for a long weekend

The house was just as advertised - maybe even better. Very clean and well stocked and the neighborhood was quiet. Made it easy for us to spend a long weekend visiting family and going to the Drake relays. The weekend itself was interrupted a little with tornado warnings but the house had a very nice basement to hang out in while we waited for the storms to pass and fortunately nothing was very close. Would definitely recommend and we plan stay again next time we are in town!
