Made just perfect for families, they offer bathtubs with showers over and pretty courtyard gardens that are perfect for a morning coffee from the coffee machine or an evening sundowner after a day on the nearby beach. This mix of dog-friendly and dog-free cottages mostly have wood-burning stoves too so you can snuggle up off-season after blustery beach walks.

Everything has been well thought out and all the cottages offer king-size beds that are just made for a great night’s sleep. Dating back to at least the 1800s, the traditional Norfolk Fisherman’s cottages, Rectory Cottage and Beach Retreat both sleep four and are next door to each other. These two properties offer small off-road parking areas, something of a rarity this close to the beach. Also built in the 1800s and just a little further along the lies Gardener’s Cottage, which sleeps six and has a kingsize bedroom on the ground floor with an ensuite shower room, making this a two-bathroom property that’s perfect for three generations travelling together.

The location couldn’t be better either as you are footsteps from the wide sandy stretch of Overstrand beach and have places to eat on foot too. Make sure you take the time to visit nearby Cromer with its famous pier and head to the Norfolk Broads and hire a day launch or join a tour. You are spoilt for choice both in terms of things to do and cottages to choose from. And whichever property you choose you are very sure to be delighted!
