Love this place BUT too expensive now

We love this property! Comfortable rooms (squeaky main bed) and tons of kitchen supplies. The backyard and all of the amenities are great! But the fees and price have gone up so much, we've been priced out. 1st time renting compared to this time was almost a 2000 difference. Eek! We'll have to look somewhere else next time first

Generously equipped getaway cottage!

This place is fabulous! We are four 50 something adults who love to cook elaborate dinners after a full day at the beach. I've never seen a such well appointed kitchen in Port A or S. Padre (My husband and I have made a yearly trek to the coast for 25 years.) THE KITCHEN HAS A SEPARATE ICE MACHINE! The house is clean and lovely! There were extra really nice blankets and beach towels. The backyard is truly an oasis! Each night we'd come home from the beach, get in the pool for happy hour, then prepare dinner and eat on the patio. One night was a little cooler so we sat around the fire feature and ate pizza. We are two couples, this place would be great for three couples or a larger family. We fully enjoyed everything about this place!

Perfect House with Pool!

We absolutely loved the house. The layout was perfect for us and the kitchen was extremely well equipped with multiples of everything you may need. The pool was perfect and refreshing after a long day at the beach. For those with a dog, there is no grass at all which is more of an FYI. We would given the house perfect ratings if the management company wouldn’t have had a few hiccups and miscommunications. The house also came with a golf cart which we loved, but the young lady at the golf cart shop was extremely rude and unprofessional.

Nice property but...

Loved the property it was a great as the pictures portrayed it. Very good location and nicely decorated. but had a few issues: 1. Silver Sands was very unresponsive to my inquiries about logistics via email. I tried to call them multiple times but the number listed on VRBO and in their confirmation emails never picked up and did not go to voicemail. 2. They property comes with a "free" gold cart but required my drivers licence and insurance card. SilverSands provides no secure way to upload those to them so I was forced (after multiple emails) to send these unencryted over email in order to use the gold cart. I find this totally unacceptable as that could too easily be intercepted and stolen. 3. Check in time was 4 PM. We arrived at 4:15 PM to find the cleaning crew in the house. They were just starting. We had to drive around town and sit in our car until 5:30 PM before getting into the house. We could not really go eat or shop as we had our dog with us and it was too hot to leave the dog in our car. All we got was a text apology and the statement - well they are supposed to be done by 4. No offer to refund money, but us dinner or anything.

Wrong Location

House was awesome but not where they say it is. We wanted to stay in downtown Port A so our elderly father could easily walk dog to buy newspaper each morning. We only looked at this area on the VRBO map which showed this property to be walking distance to IGA groceries and most restaurants. Learned upon our arrival that this property is 2 miles from downtown and not walkable to any businesses. The leasing company blamed VRBO. VRBO blamed leasing company but opened a complaint and said we'd hear back from them and leasing company. Three weeks since we've left there and still haven't heard from either.

Our stay at this place was great. The backyard oasis was where we spent most of our time. The owners stocked their kitchen with anything you could possibly need. The beds are all king size and very comfortable sleeping areas. The only thing we were disappointed in is that we specifically looked for a house with a pool that could be heated(an extra fee) because that's where we wanted to spend our time. We were only able to spend about an hour in the pool before checkout because I am assuming there had been a malfunction with the heater and it wasn't warmed until Sunday morning.
