Texas Staycation

This is our second time to stay at this property, as we stayed last year with my brother. It’s a perfect house when you have your elderly parents with you. The location is perfect! The house was very clean, and the private pool is so nice. I’m sure we will return next year!

Perfect vacation house!

This house was our favorite vacation spot by far! We come to Port A every year for family vacation and have stayed in a variety of places, mostly great, but this is the best yet! The house is roomy, clean, well stocked, and comfortable. The outdoor space with private pool is the icing on the cake! We loved all the seating areas and the pool was so nice. Loved it so much, definitely going back.

Family vacay success ✹

We loved this property and will definitely be back — the seperate room/bathroom area adjacent to the house was perfect for our parents who want their own space/privacy! We had three dogs and having the tile flooring throughout was so nice — they were a sandy mess after the beach and to have a hose outside to get them cleaned up was so nice. Property management responded very quickly after a mosquito swarm had settled into the entrance/courtyard area — they sent someone to spray the exterior quickly and it made a huge difference. We had enough kitchen utensils and pots and pans to make large dinners for everyone! 10/10

Beautiful home

This house was great for our family. Backyard is beautiful. Our fur babies were allowed and it’s close to the beach. Kitchen had everything needed to cook meals. One thing that wasn’t clear in the listing is that the 3rd bedroom, although attached to the house, wasn’t accessible from the main house. This was a concern as we had younger kids and had to swap rooms around to put kids to bed early while adults stayed up later to ensure we were able to still keep an eye on them within the main house.

Everything was as advertised except the couches weren't the same as the pictures. Fabric instead of leather. Jacuzzi wouldn't hold water. However, the host was very accommodating and the house was clean with a great layout. The front Spanish style courtyard and Casita was well thought out.

Enjoyable vacation

The location of the house is close enough to the beach where you can ride a cart. The swimming pool is a plus. Grandkids enjoyed the pool after a day on the beach.

Great place. Only two things. The dryer takes 2-3 cycles to dry towels and would like to be able to open/use the gate entrance by pool. Having access to the pool via that gate would eliminate bringing sand into the house.

Perfect 1 Story for Port A

Loved staying here! Selected this property because it’s a one story and perfect for old people with bad knees. Property was very clean and comfortable. Appreciated smart TVs in all bedrooms. Kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked. Nice comfy beds with plenty of pillows. AC stayed nice & cool. I did not realize that the third bedroom is a completely separate suite with an entrance off the courtyard. I personally loved that but may not be ideal for everyone. Property manager was always prompt & polite when we had questions. Only a few things I thought could use improvement : Keyless entry & remote check in and out would be great! Keeping track of two keys when we’re going separate ways, back and forth to the beach, dinner, napping, etc was a little tough. Also, a way to get in the back gate to use the outdoor shower would be nice. However, they had plenty of hoses in the courtyard and driveway to rinse off before going in. Overall, one of the best experiences we’ve had at Port A. Will absolutely book this house again!

Pros and Cons

The property is beautiful and we loved the pool. You have to access the third bedroom by going outside - which we weren’t crazy about just because we felt very separated from the others and having to unlock doors. The kitchen worked fine for us but would be tight for any group planning to cook at home. We had to pick up the keys (not until 4pm) and by the time we got to the house and unloaded, the property management company was closed when we called regarding a few issues - it was 10-15 mins before 5pm. The flat screen in the living room was broke. The next day, another smaller tv was brought over for a temporary fix. Accessing any channels on any of the TVs was a challenge!!! We weren’t ever able to watch tv in the living room, even with several tech savvy people in our group. Even cable in the bedrooms was hit or miss. The house definitely needs to be sprayed for bugs. Not sure who is responsible for that - but it’s an issue.

Park Place Perfection

Wow, what a great place that has everything. Great entertaining spaces everywhere. Room for everyone. Our best VRBO rental yet! Great proximity to the beach and restaurants in town. This place has it all! We are already planning a return trip.

We love this house and have stayed here several times.

Disappointed that the heater for the pool was removed in July but advertised as having a heated pool. Kids were disappointed. The house needs a good deep clean, floor under couches very dirty as well as base boards. All that said, we have enjoyed staying here several times before and will probably stay again in the summer.
