Paws and Claws is nestled right on the oceanfront in the Villages of Ocean Hill Community. This community is famous for its wide beaches and its proximity to the 4x4 beach where the wild horses roam. The community offers both oceanfront and sound front pools that are open Memorial Day through Labor Day, a beachside snack bar, tennis, pickleball, volleyball, and basketball courts, shuffleboard, state of a state-of-the-art fitness center (with Fee), children's playground and even a stocked pond for fishing (catch and release). If you need a break from the salt and sand you can walk or ride your bike along the Corolla Bike Path to the nearby Currituck Banks Reserve walking trails, Corolla Adventure Park, Currituck Lighthouse, Maritime Museum, Currituck Club, and many shops and restaurants.

This newly remodeled, six (6) bedroom oceanfront has plenty of space to gather but also plenty of quiet nooks where guests are able to find privacy and relaxation while Dolphin gazing! The well-equipped kitchen offers up a great spot for entertaining and staying close to the action. The open, adjoining living space offers a 75-inch 4K HDTV, plenty of seating, and spectacular views of the Atlantic. The dining room is grand and spacious with a large marble table that can easily seat the whole family! Having a front row seat to the ocean has it's perks! The unmistakable sound of waves crashing while taking in the salt air really does heal everything! The large pool area has plenty of seating and is a natural gathering space during all season. Renting in the spring or fall? The pool can be heated for a fee!

The ground level features a large game room w/pool table, wet bar, full-size refrigerator and entertainment center. On this level of the home you will find the washer and dryer room. There is also (1) bedroom w/2 twins and hall bath. The sliders lead out to to the private pool and walkway to the beach.

The middle level offers up two (2) Masters w/ Kings, (1) bedroom w/King, (1) bedroom w/ Queen and bunk set and full hall bath along with a second laundry room w/washer and dryer. The hot tub is situated on the mid level decks.

The top level of Paws and Claws is undoubtedly THE spot for incredible views! Besides tons of space to hang out and relax, you will find (1) Master w/King (and soaking tub), spacious living Room w/75 inch HDTV, elegant dining area, powder room and an extremely well appointed kitchen. The sunroom is the perfect spot for your morning coffee or afternoon cocktail all while taking everything there is to love about being on the oceanfront. Also on this level is a loft that is perfect for catching a nap or reading a great book.

The location is the saving grace of this property. While the desciptions of rooms, baths, amenities are accurate, the condition of the areas of the home and the overall cleanliness was subpar. Windows, floors, kitchen, deck furniture, front porch, all dirty. Furniture old, several dining chairs with crumpled legs, stove top needs replacing. The only can opener in the kitchen was broken.Fireplace appeared to be inoperable, or no instructions were provided. While the main living area is amazing with its views, having no options for shade from the morning sun directly in your eyes, no matter you sit is very uncomfortable and can easily be remedied with some shade blinds. We understood from the instructions to bring bed linens and towels. No issue, as we have done that multiple times with other VRBO rentals. However, we did not realize that we were to also bring bath mats, basic hand wash for every bathroom, kitchen towels, and an all purpose spray cleaner to keep things properly cleaned on a daily basis.Perhaps a collaboration between the property management and property owner could address these issues and give this wonderful location the rental value it deserves.Thank you.Lea Zivic

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our vacation in corolla, north carolina. Paws and Claus was the perfect place to stay. The views of the sunset and sunrise were breathtaking. Even though it was october, we enjoyed swimming in the pool. It was nice and clean. We enjoyed the drive to see the Wild Horses. All the people in the area were so nice and friendly. If you are a family oriented person, this is the perfect place to come.

Terrific Property

Overall a great family experience with lots of nooks and special places for alone time too. The view from the deck is perfect and special. Sunsets from above takes it to another level too. Quiet neighborhood with bike path available and access to Corolla is simple. Upstairs living spaces are spacious and updated. There are some “end of the season” repairs and updates needed throughout the interior, exterior, grill and pool areas but that’s to be expected. Pet friendly also. We loved the stay and would definitely recommend.

Best place to stay!!!

Paws & Claws is the best place to stay in Corolla! Gorgeous views of the ocean from decks on every level, private walkway to the beach, heated pool, hot tub, pool table, three master bedrooms, pets welcome, and five minutes away from the ramp to drive onto the beach where the wild horses roam! We could tell that the property is kept up to date and modern (there is a brand new deck outside the sliding glass door on the third floor and the interior of the house appears to have been remodeled fairly recently). There’s nothing else we could ask for! Coast Realty was a great, responsive host! They answered all our questions and were even able to accommodate a travel cat! Everything was ready for us when we arrived (house was clean, pool heated, and hot tub was ready to go) and we were able to request and book an extra day while at the property! Thank you, Coast Realty!
