Villa Michael is the epitome of a truly picturesque island escape, with sun, sea, and splendour at nearly every turn. Set within the sleepy Greek village of Kritika in the southern region of Corfu, it’s the ideal spot for holidaymakers looking for some peace and serenity. Kritika arguably possesses some of the island’s best beaches, with the breathtaking golden sand beach of Agios Gordis South nearby. Nestled near the traditional resort town of Lekimi, grab a taste of the local life and relish in the laid-back atmosphere. And just a fifteen-minute drive away is the busier beach of Kavos where the crystal-clear turquoise water is perfect for swimming and various organised water sports. Head into Kavos town for some serious fun, with a wild nightlife scene paired with incredible waterfront restaurants. For a quieter beach day head to the remote and wild Arkoudillas Beach and unwind on an untouched golden-sand beach backed by jagged cliffs.
Lush flora and fragrant citrus plants encircle the villa, filling the grounds with fresh fragrances which add to the tropical and tranquil atmosphere. Sunbathe the day away on one of the sunloungers, or a hidden seating area dotted throughout the garden. The swimming pool sparkles under the Greek sunshine – jump in the tempting waters and cool off. Our favourite feature? It has to be the quaint stone summer kitchen, with a rustic alfresco kitchen comprising a pizza oven and brick barbecue, cook up a feast or two in the evening and settle down for dinner on the wooden dining table. The charm exudes from the exteriors, with its feet planted in the traditional architecture seen throughout this vibrant island.
The open-plan living area is warm and homely, a mix of old and new, with the original wooden panelled ceilings blending with the beige and lavender walls. A comfy sofa circles around the antique fireplace, decorated with floral cushions and blooming with indoor plants. Built with a country-chic design, the kitchen makes you feel right at home with its cosy white-painted cabinets and vintage breakfast bar. Across the villa are three bedrooms, all with large wooden double beds and matching furnishings.
*- Please note a new pool will be added to the villa grounds for 2023 (please see the CGI image) and as such the outdoor lawned seating area will be reduced.
