This apartment would be perfect for a couple but can host up to 4 guests, possibly a family. There is a double bedroom and a double sofa bed in the living area. Guests will appreciate the equipped kitchenette and the furnished outdoor terrace which calls for a romantic dinner while enjoying the mountain view.

NEIGHBORHOOD

The property is within walking distance from the busy city life. Como old town is almost across the street, and Como San Giovanni train station is a short walk away. It takes 10 minutes to walk to the lakefront.



GETTING AROUND

Proximity to Como San Giovanni station will be comfortable for guests arriving by train. From Como San Giovanni station, there are regular trains departing to Milano Centrale and Switzerland (Lugano, Bellinzona, Locarno). From Como Nord Lago station, it is possible to travel to Milano Cadorna.

In the city of Como and nearby towns, ASF Autolinee buses are in operation. Tickets can be obtained from the driver (cash only) or in designated places (the main bus station in Piazza Matteotti, bars, and tobacco stores). Taxis are also available. However, the historical center, the main sightseeing objects, and the lake are a walking distance away from the property.

From the pier in central Como, a local ferry service will take you to Cernobbio, Torno, Bellagio, Varenna, Colico, and other lakeside towns. Please note – if traveling in high season, we advise you to be patient with long waiting lines at the ticket office. Tickets can also be bought online on the Navigazione Laghi website.

The nearest airports are Milano Malpensa, Milano Linate, and Orio Al Serio in Bergamo. It is possible to arrange a direct shuttle to and from the airport at an additional cost.

TIPS

>We advise you to take a day to visit the marvelous little towns around the lake. Como city is the urban center of the area, but the little towns are gems with glorious lakeside villas.

>To travel and walk around Lake Como, especially in the little towns, comfortable shoes are a must.

>There are many public drinking water fountains in the area, and the water is safe to drink unless stated otherwise. Tap water is also drinkable. You can carry your own refillable bottle!

>If you are looking for a relatively easy hike in the area and want to enjoy mountain views anyway, Lake Como Greenway is a wonderful, easy-to-follow trail that connects the lakeside towns from Colonno to Griante and doesn\'t require too much walking uphill. A bus will take you from Como San Giovanni train station to the starting point in Colonno.

>Look for traditional restaurants where you can try local foods such as Lake Como fish dishes.

>In Italy, many shops (especially the little ones) and services are closed in the middle of the day, so be careful to plan your shopping accordingly.

>Lake Como is one of the deepest lakes in Europe and the deepest in Italy. Swimming and diving are prohibited in many areas and can be dangerous. For those who wish to dwell in the water, however, there are some options. In Como city, there is an outdoor pool near Villa Olmo, but swimming in the lake is not recommended and is mostly forbidden. There are beaches in other lakeside towns.

Lido di Bellagio and pebbly San Giovanni beach will be waiting for those who wish to travel and explore the beautiful town of Bellagio which lies in the middle of the two Larian branches. Locals and visitors also enjoy traveling to Nesso where the bravest swimmers can jump into the lake from the ancient Roman bridge near the waterfall.

>Lake Como is located in a mountainous region. The surrounding pre-Alps might not seem very high, but the climate is nevertheless affected by the nearby mountains, and temperatures can change quickly. Be particularly attentive to the weather when hiking, and bring some warm and waterproof clothes with you!

Small but quiet.

Our stay was for 5 nights. The apartment was quiet and suited our needs for the stay. Due to us being from another country we were directed to present ourselves at the office prior to being allowed entry into the property. This involved driving to the office where parking was very limited. After presenting ourselves to the office and having our passports reviewed we were given the instructions on how to enter the property. Parking was available at the unit. Its is a small underground garage that was difficult to maneuver your vehicle into. We could not get our rental in the garage and ended up paying 24 euros per day outside the apartment. Upon entering the apartment it was clean and welcoming with just the right amenities. Day three of our stay we started to see small ants entering through the living room patio door. We contacted management via WhatsApp but got limited response. We then walked to the management office and made an in person complaint. Some one showed up later that afternoon to set one ant trap outside the unit. The next morning the infestation had progressed throughout the whole apartment. We then contacted management through WhatsApp and again got limited response. The next day we walked back to the office to complain again. Someone came in the afternoon with a better solution and took their time to listen to us and even vacuumed up nearly all of the ants. By the last day of our stay it looked to be contained. would we stay again, maybe.
