Overall it was a fine experience and the host was very responsive to messages but there were a few things that could've been handled better. The check-in door code didn't work, and since the property is run by a third-party company, I was getting messages from numerous numbers with different check-in info and it was unclear which one to contact for such issues. I eventually had to call so that I could get inside. There was also a large security deposit requested by the third party the day before check-in which wasn't mentioned during booking and quite a surprise on top of the other fees already paid. Also, I learned after asking where to do laundry that the washer/dryer wasn't working -- when staying somewhere for almost a week, it would've been nice to know that ahead of time. The hot water also didn't get very hot, but they said they're working on that! Otherwise, it was a convenient location with a comfortable bed and functional kitchen.

Las Animas Delight

For those that want to enjoy the convenience of downtown, this property is highly desirable. I was able to walk to some of my favorites: Shuga's, Loyal Coffee and Bread & Butter Market. The central location made it easy for north and south friends to come my direction. They're done a perfect job renovating this old Victorian and turning it into a gem. The bathroom is tiled to half-wall, which I personally like and all furnishings are new, super clean or curated for a sweet vintage-chic feel. There are windows on every wall in every room which creates a nice cross breeze. Also, being on the second floor with so many windows gives it a treehouse effect.When I arrived, there was already some Oldies playing on the TV which felt welcoming. There are two other units where other guests stay which made me feel safe and gave a more communal feel to the experience. Stay here, you will like it.
