Sunrise Waterfront Potomac Beach Haus near Two Beaches

Relax to the breeze off the Potomac in this spacious, waterfront beach house. Located centrally about a 10 minute walk between two of the best beaches in town and 15 minute walk to town and the Tiki bar!

Waterviews from the living room, media & game room, and an upstairs bedroom with bistro table set. Enjoy the sunrise and sunset views!

Unwind in the clawfoot tub or with a spa showerhead. Upstairs also includes two bedrooms and bathrooms with some Victorian-era charm.

Enjoy the deck with a propane grill, hammock, table & chairs and 180 views of the water.

The space
Enjoy all the modern amenities in an original Victorian beach house! There is a well-stocked kitchen with coffee bar that leads to a dining room with seating for 8.

Relax in the waterview living room with a bartop. An additional waterview media room includes a card table, two recliners, pull-out couch, lots of games, DVDs, and books.

The deck has 180 degree views of the Potomac river and has a table, BBQ, hammock stand and seats all shaded by a 150-year old oak.

Downstairs has a master bedroom with a plush king bed, large bathroom & shower.

Upstairs has the original Victorian feel with two bedrooms and baths including a clawfoot tub! The front bedroom includes a bistro table to enjoy breath-taking sunrise views.

Guest access
Guests have access to the home, hot tub, activities storage shed, and deck.

Other things to note
Do note that our home is over 100 years old! A lot of that original charm is gorgeous crown molding, but also beware of the low ceiling height coming down the stairs, some uneven original wood floors upstairs and every so often a new cosmetic crack from the home settling appears.

We have exterior cameras monitoring all exterior entrances (front, side and back of the home).

Being on the river means enjoying nature - bald eagles, osprey, herons and dolphins (if you are lucky!) but also bugs, flies, & mosquitos are common. Try to keep exterior storm doors closed to keep nature out of the home.

We also try to be as green as possible with our laundry. Towels are provided for each person. Let us know in advance if your guest numbers change or you would like additional ones for your stay.

We'll do our best to make sure as many amenities are available as possible, but due to shortages and shipping delays there may be some difficulty replacing items if and when they break. In particular, hot tub parts can be difficult to obtain quickly.

At check out, please put any used dishes in the dishwasher and run it. Throw used towels into the bathtubs. No unregistered guests without permission.

Great family spot

This was great for our little family and the amenities helped get us settled in with our 20 month old. Such a cool area and prime location! Heather was a wonderful host and very responsive!

Calm and Quiet

Estuary-side property just a short walk to extremely quiet sandy beaches, The property itself is clean and has all you'll need. Recommend renting a golf cart to get around in Colonial Beach.

What a fabulous home with all the little extras that you would need on a family getaway!! This charming home was just as described and so much more. My favorite was the outside space looking out over the Potomac. Being a bird enthusiast - the Osprey were amazing to watch as they were building their nests. Would love to visit again!

Waterfront with a breeze, great AC, Modernized home.

We loved this property. Heather is very responsive and kind. The A/C and hot water worked well. Our kids were able to use the WiFi to play on their tablets. We rented a golf cart and went to the beach daily which is a 3 minute drive. The two living rooms came in handy when the kids needed some separation. Bring a Thermacell or bug spray for the evenings to avoid mosquitoes. The Thermacell worked great for us . The waterfront deck is amazing. The smokeless propane fire bowl was perfect as we have family with allergies. Kitchen was well stocked. Fridge had condiments galore so no need to bring ketchup, mustard or mayo etc.. having the Harry Potter bathroom on the main floor was appreciated so everyone wasn't using the ensuite to the master bedroom all day long.

PROS *Ideal location - central to the two beaches and water views *Quaint waterfront community *Friendly people *Hot tub *Activity shed decently stocked *Communication with owner, resulted in quick, detailed responses *I suggest renting a golfcart or bringing bikes to explore the area CONS *We came in August and there were sooooo many jellyfish we never once got in the water. This was a dissappointment as the beaches were nice. *There was an ant issue in the kitchen area. When I mentioned this the owner she immediately responded that they had a service and could schedule to have it sprayed. We had two infants so declined the spray even though the spraying would be outside. We purchased ant traps but they did not help at all. We were dilligent in making sure there was no food left out, but still had signifigants ants daily for the full week. All and all its was lovely home and neighborhood and we enjoyed our stay. The owner is very responsive and easy to work with.

Quietly Quaint, Perfect Paradise

This house is amazing. It is adorable, large, clean, and looks out to the water. It is in the middle of everything, and this golf cart area is so perfect. The owners are amazing, and very responsive. I highly recommend this place, and hope to be a repeat customer! By the way, the locals are also amazing, friendly, and the local restaurants are fantastic.

Potomac paradise

The view of the ospreys and the river from the front porch and the sound of cicadas was my ideal breakfast spot. We mostly wanted to appreciate nature and hunt for fossils at Westmoreland. Check and check. This was a great home base for our visit.

Peaceful Getaway!

What a wonderful beach house, in a such a quant little beach town! This was the perfect easy family getaway to end our summer. The host was very communicative, welcoming, and helpful. Check-in and check-out were super easy. The house was very clean and homey and was much larger than it appears in the photos. Our family was able to really spread out, with the two separate living rooms overlooking the water, and the huge dining room table in the dining room. The bedrooms were lovely, with lots of room and comfortable beds. We loved all the beachy touches in the house and the amenities that were included, like the use of beach towels, hair dryers, a well-stocked kitchen, first aid kit, bottled water in the fridge, and special toiletries (my teenage daughter couldn’t wait to soak in the clawfoot tub, with the provided bath salts!). I was thrilled to find universal phone charges in all the bedrooms, making our lives much easier. Even on the 90 degree days, the hot tub was awesome, so refreshing and relaxing. My favorite spot was the front deck, with lots of sitting areas, including a lounge chair and our favorite – the hammock! I relished starting and ending my days, sitting on the quiet deck, looking out at the peaceful water. Highly recommend!

Great house in great location in great town

My wife and I joked how we didn't want to give this place a good review so we could hopefully scare people away from it so we could rent it more often ourselves. Unfortunately we're bad liars, even in text. So... This place was fantastic. The setup was great. The location is great. We didn't even get a chance to have all the fun we initially planned on from reading the description because there's just so much fun and relaxing to do. Everyone in the town is very friendly, so make sure you work out your waving muscles, because they will be utilized while greeting complete strangers as you walk, drive, and sit on the porch. So please, do me and my wife a favor and do not rent this house so it can be available more often for us. We don't want to share. But if you're mean and rent it anyway, you'll be very happy with it. I just won't be happy with you. ;-)
