Enjoy a tranquil stay on this 14 meter yacht Legacy in Fuerte Sherman; Shelter Bay Marina, on the Atlantic end of the Panama Canal. This amazing 2-bedroom vessel features a luxe memory foam grand queen bed in the master's cabin and a memory foam full bed in the guest cabin. In the master's cabin, there is an attached bathroom with a tub and shower. The guest cabin has a stand up shower, sink, and commode. All bathrooms are equipped with hair dryers and showers. There is additional sleeping space adjacent to the captain's office with 2 bunk beds where junior guests can relax in style. Book now for the holidays and enjoy everything this yacht has to offer. One hour from Panama City, Panama's capital and largest city on the Pacific shore. Free bus service to Colon, Panana's third largest city on the Caribbean Atlantic, is about 35-40 minutes from the marina. Settled during the canal construction era in the late 1800's and early 1900's as home by people from Jamaica, Trinidad, and the Bahamas, it has a completely different "vibe" than other places in the country.
The Legacy has flat panel TV in all bedrooms and the main salon so you can keep current on the world if that takes your fancy. The main salon features an ice maker, and bar sink as well as a peninsular galley counter. The bar on board is strictly BYOB. All the dishes, pots and pans are available in the galley to allow gourmet meal prep. Or, you can arrange to enjoy Chef Maurice's wonderful cuisine at The Dock restaurant just a few short steps from the yacht. You can book a cruise out on Bahia Limon or further weather permitting with an experienced crew for an additional charge. Other more aggressive cruises with local crews are also possible with advance booking. The Marina is located in a federal wildlife reserve and the AeroNaval (Panamanian Coast Guard/Navy)base. Security is NEVER an issue! Since the Shelter Bay is the principal Marina on the Atlantic end of the Panama Canal Legacy's guests will rub shoulders with cruising sailors from virtually every country in the world! There is a fun schedule of events at the marina ongoing at all times and Legacy's guests are encouraged to join in. Everything from a Sunday potluck and Wednesday Hump Day Happy Hour, to Cuban Train Dominos and Christmas festivities.
The owner of Legacy is a retired professional naturalist, and has engaged a local friend and naturalist Carlos Chiari "The Jungle Man" to provide a complementary courtesy cultural history and nature hike, on good trails, to view the area's abundant wildlife, birds, and fascinating flora, and learn the local history from the time of Columbus til today.
Don't be surprised to see 3-4 species of monkeys and perhaps a 2 or 3 toed sloth on these hikes.Tours to other areas of Panama can also be arranged (including snorkeling) working through Legacy.
