Originally built in the 1930s as a roadside service station, this fully renovated two-story cottage now offers all the modern conveniences while keeping a touch of its early American road-trip character. Set beside the historic 1873 Firmstone Manor on 13 acres of rolling Alleghany County countryside, The Station is a comfortable, private retreat with mountain views, quiet grounds to wander, and easy access to everything that makes this corner of Virginia special.
Inside, the cottage spans two levels with two bedrooms (one king, one queen), a bathroom with a tiled walk-in shower, and a spacious family room with a dining table. The full kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, range, dishwasher, and Keurig coffee maker â so your first cup is ready before the rest of the world wakes up. Central A/C, heat, and high-speed secure internet keep things comfortable year-round, and 4K streaming TVs in each bedroom and the family room work with your Roku guest account. We also welcome one well-behaved dog with a small additional fee â bring the whole family along.
Our location is something special: we sit almost exactly halfway between Clifton Forge, Lexington, and Bath County, which means you can base yourself somewhere peaceful and be at a vineyard, a national forest trailhead, or the historic Warm Springs Pools in under 30 minutes. Firmstone Manor itself, one of the largest surviving Victorian homes in Alleghany County, sits on the property as part of an ongoing restoration of the estate.
