Welcome to the historic SouthGate House! Relax at the rooftop wet bar and take in skyline views from each level of this modern urban oasis. Located downtown but with a huge private lot featuring a city view fire pit, three decks and a patio. The modern kitchen provides a spacious area to prep and cook on the gas range or hang out at the countertop bar. The 16’ kitchen ceiling features exposed beams, stained glass and a ten foot ceiling fan. The master suite displays impressive oversized tile throughout with clean gold fixtures and a rain shower head against an opaque glass block ceiling to floor window. The upstairs great room features a relaxing ambrosia wood fireplace and wrap around windows with a city skyline view.

This is a beautiful, clean, house that is very convenient to Cincinnati. We visited so that we could go to the zoo with family (4 adults, 3 kids, and a doggo). The yard was perfect for walking our dog. The gps directions are accurate and make this house easy to find. Check-in instructions were easy to follow and this property does not require you to clean the whole house on departure like many other properties do. The rooftop deck is perfection! It was a little chilly the weekend we stayed so not much time was spent up there, but we did enjoy it some. I will caution to be aware of the amount of stairs in this house if you are uncomfortable with those. All bedrooms are on the bottom floor and there is no way to avoid stairs whether inside or out. Plenty of linens and extra pillows/blankets are provided. The beds are all firm. We loved our stay!

This place was very nice. It's close enough to quickly drive to downtown Cincinnati and many of the places we wanted to see. The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe.The house itself was lovely. The view from the balcony and the living area were amazing. They had extra blankets and space heaters tucked in many places to accommodate different temperatures. It had a modern feel in an older home. All the beds were very thick memory foam.A couple of cautions. This house has a lot of stairs that are slightly steeper than standard including from the parking spot to the front door. It also had extra stairs between bedrooms and in the master suite. We traveled with adults, but I could see the space being difficult to navigate with children or those who have difficulty climbing stairs. It was very dark at the front door, so bring a flashlight if you come and go after dark so you can get the key in the lock. And I'm used to sleeping in a dark room, so I was grateful that I brought my sleep mask.The landlord was VERY responsive and available to answer questions and give advice to manage problems. They clearly wanted us to have a good time. It is a pet peeve of mine that if a rental is truly a peak experience, the landlord doesn't need to ask for the highest rating five times.For the right group, this is a perfect place.

We hosted a family Christmas gathering here and it was absolutely wonderful. The home was stocked with so many thoughtful extras—plenty of towels, toilet paper, soaps, paper towels, dishwasher supplies, and a well-equipped kitchen with pans and everything we needed. The rooftop was spectacular with a beautiful view, and we even took our family Christmas photos up there. Truly a special place and a perfect stay.

This is a great property and I would love to come back when the weather is warm to enjoy the rooftop deck. It has a fabulous view and it's well equipped. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with coffee and water and ice in the refrigerator door.It wasn't an issue with our teens and adults... but there are multi levels and I think that would be scary with toddlers...the only reason I gave it a 4 star for families. Im really just thinking young children. We lived it!

This place was awesome! They truly thought of everything! Very well stocked with all the necessities. Spacious, and we absolutely loved the top floor deck! Great location! We booked Southgate House for a weekend because our daughter’s wedding took place in Northern Kentucky. Calvin and his son have done a remarkable job transforming an older home into a fun, creative, cool experience with little surprises like the roof top deck and the amazing kitchen. They’ve thought of everything, but also were willing to go above and beyond to meet our needs and make our stay comfortable. The house is quiet with no through traffic on the street. The beds were super comfortable, the showers were nice and hot, the city views were spectacular (we got to see Octoberfest fireworks from the rooftop deck!), and the home was spacious enough to host a few family members for brunch the day after the wedding. There’s plentiful parking on the street across from the house. Southgate House felt like a home away from home during our big event.

We had 5 people in our group who stayed. It was a great place for us. Plenty of room. We stayed 3 nights. There were plenty of towels, plates, glasses and utensils. The house is in a quiet area. It was nice to have our own parking spot too. The views of Cincinnati were amazing! The host leaves things you may need like plenty of blankets, soaps, shampoo and conditioner. Even laundry detergent. For our first time in a VRBO, it was a fantastic first impression.

My family of 6 loved staying here. The rooftop deck with a view of downtown Cincinnati is what drew us in, and it did not disappoint. Our family felt like we had enough space to spread out and be comfortable, but we also enjoyed the spaces together. The kitchen was well stocked, although I did not try to cook in it, because, well, vacation. I loved how we didn't have a long list of chores to do in order to leave! Check-in and out was a breeze!

This house is really cool, very comfortable, and nicely located for hitting up the Great American Ballpark. It'll be my go-to anytime I travel in for a Reds game.
