House is extremely dated not at all luxury and it is located in a questionable neighborhood, my son who lives in Chico and is a police officer was concerned that we rented a home in that area as it is known for criminal activity. The pool was cold, hot tub were both dirty and unusable. The home had cameras on the back side in areas where a guest would expect privacy, specifically on the back side of the garage facing the hot tub and pool area. The oven poured smoke out of it when turned on to preheat and the smoke detector in the kitchen failed to go off even though the entire area was full of smoke due to an excessive amount of old food and spills in the bottom, the pots and pans are in extremely poor condition with teflon peeling and chipping off, the few stainless ones had old food and charred debris left on then. The kitchen drawers cabinets are full of old food crumbs and dirt the kitchen is in desperate need of a deep clean. The carpets and area rugs smell musty and there is a faint smell of urin they could use a steam cleaning as they are dirty and some of the areas appear to have pet stains The few bath towels that were left for us to use had holes and stains, which after check out I was accused of stealing, and then charged for. I have never been accused of anything like this in my life and all my previous experiences as a VRBO guest I have been given 5 star reviews. It is extremely hard to believe that this home has not received poor reviews in the past.
