The Salt Shack - Bracklesham - a bungalow that sleeps 6 guests in 3 bedrooms
Welcome to The Salt Shack, a cosy and eco friendly getaway tucked between East Wittering and Bracklesham Bay, just a short stroll from both beaches. The location is ideal for families, couples and dog lovers looking to unwind by the sea, with secure gated grounds, plenty of space inside and out, and a peaceful, relaxed atmosphere.
The house sleeps six adults across three bedrooms, a king size master with ensuite and two further rooms that can be arranged as either twins or super king beds. Two additional young children can be accommodated on fold out chair beds, which can be set up in any room to suit. There is also a travel cot, high chair, baby bath and changing mat available, just request anything needed when booking.
The main living space is bright, open plan and perfect for spending time together. There is a well equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar, a log burner for chilly evenings, and a smart TV for relaxed nights in. The bathrooms include walk in showers and a bathtub, and everything is kept cosy year round with underfloor heating powered by solar panels and an air source heat pump.
Outside, a large decked terrace is set up for easy outdoor living, with loungers, a hammock and subtle dusk to dawn lighting for relaxed evenings. There is a barbecue and fire pit with built in seating, and a brilliant sand pit and play zone to keep the little ones happy while the grown ups unwind. A beautiful old olive tree stands beside a tiled bar, the perfect spot for a sundowner.
Just a couple of minutes in either direction leads to the beaches at Bracklesham Bay and East Wittering, both dog friendly and great for swimming, paddleboarding or simply watching the waves. There is secure outdoor storage for bikes and boards, plus a rainwater surfboard shower for washing off after beach days. The nearby Salterns Way offers a scenic, mostly car free cycle route to Chichester, linking up with the peaceful Centurion Way trail through the countryside. Plenty of lovely waterside pubs and picnic spots along the way make it a perfect day out.
The Salt Shack has been designed with accessibility in mind. There are no steps at entrances, wide doorways throughout, and hard flooring inside and out. Guests who would benefit from additional support can request a static shower chair, toilet frame and grab rails, all provided at no extra cost, subject to availability.
An EV charger is available for guest use, 7kW Type 2 plug & play, ÂŁ20 per stay or per week for longer bookings, overnight charging only please between 11pm and 8am. There is on site parking for up to four cars.
Dogs are welcome too, guests are asked to add pets at the time of booking and clean up after them during their stay. There is a hose and outdoor shower available for rinsing muddy paws.
Please remember to bring beach towels, as these are not supplied. Before departure, the hosts kindly ask guests to clean and put away crockery and kitchenware. If the dishwasher is running after checkout, it should be set to the one hour cycle. Bin day is Tuesday, general waste in the black bin, recycling in the red.
All additional equipment is provided free of charge and in good faith. Guests are responsible for assessing suitability and safety before use, and any requested items should be confirmed at the time of booking as quantities are limited.
