Pet/Family Friendly Farmhouse: Sleeps 10, Firepit, 1 Hour from Chicago

Welcome to the Carriage House, a peaceful getaway on our quiet farmstead. If you’re looking for a relaxing quiet spot surrounded by nature, this is the perfect place to unwind.

Outside, you’ll find a large covered porch with an outdoor dining table—great for meals or just sitting back and enjoying the fresh air. In season, the property is filled with wildflowers and plenty of wildlife to spot. There’s a firepit with plenty of seating for evening gatherings, where you can roast marshmallows and enjoy the night sky. In the winter, the flowers and hammocks may not be available, but the snowy views and wildlife sightings make it just as peaceful.

Inside, there’s a roomy upstairs living area, perfect for relaxing together. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you’ll need to cook meals, and there’s a coffee bar for your morning cup. Bedrooms are spacious, and we also have a laundry room to make longer stays easy. Families will find everything they need here—crib, pack-n-play, high chair, toys, books, and puzzles for kids of all ages.

Pets are welcome, too! We provide crates, beds, towels, and dishes for them. Just please keep them leashed outside and away from the fenced areas and farm dogs on the other side of the acreage.

While it feels quiet and tucked away, we’re conveniently located—about an hour from Chicago (depending on traffic) and 30 minutes from O’Hare Airport, right off I-90 and very close (5 minutes) to the NOW Arena. We are 25 minutes away from the Allstate Arena, 15 minutes away from Schaumburg and 15 minutes away from the Elgin Sports Complex.

Please note: This property is next to state land preserves, so you may see wildlife such as deer, coyotes, and insects during your stay. The home is regularly serviced by a pest control company, but wildlife is part of the natural setting here. If anything comes up during your stay, just let us know—we’re happy to help. We do ask that you keep doors closed and screens secured to keep the inside comfortable.
