If your looking for a place in "little India" as the tourist books call it this is definitely a great place. Lots of amazing restaurants for Indian, Muslim and Hebrew food. We didn't read the other review before we rented it.The apartment was open and unlocked when we arrived at 5-530 an hr after our check in time. The apartment was filthy and we have the pictures to back it up even a video. Sink filled with old food, food all over the floors and dirty sheets and towels still in the apartment. The cleaning ladies showed up as we were getting ready to call Verbo. They did do an amazing job cleaning up the place. They allowed us to sit in another apartment while they cleaned ours and watch TV. Judging from their last review not much had changed. 1980s smoke detector is still just hanging from the ceiling. The deadbolt on the door only works from the inside so when you leave you have to relie on the flimsy door handle lock to keep the apartment secure. Calling it a gem is a little bit of a stretch. College Dorm apartment would be better. Looks like the building is still under renovations. The neighborhood gets a little iffy after dark. Definitely appreciate the double locking entrance doors to the building. Parking is definitely a nightmare on a busy weekend. Parked 3 blocks away from the apartment the first night. Not sure if I'd use it as a family vacation rental but was definitely ok for two adults to go to a concert. Lyft and Uber to downtown runs between 25-50 dollars.

Not As Advertised

Upon entering the apartment, it was not even close to as advertised. The smoke detector was hanging from the wall, clearly not working. The listing said there was air conditioning. The air conditioner in the living room did not work, and there were brown leak marks down the wall where it was located. There was a standing fan in the corner, making it clear the host was aware the air conditioner was broken but did not tell us prior to our arrival.There was no remote for the television in the living room. When we attempted to turn it on with the power button on the TV, it did not come on at all even though it was plugged into an outlet. There were also numerous cords and wires hanging from the back of the TV.The listing states the unit sleeps 4 people, which means some could sleep on the couch. The couch cushions were not clean. There was also only 1 blanket in the bedroom, no extras for someone to sleep on the couch. We specifically asked for extra blankets and were told there were already some in the apartment. That was not true. The closet had only 1 hanger and some of the knobs on the closet doors were missing. The kitchen was not clean and there were exposed light bulbs. There was no way all of these issues could be resolved within the time of our stay. Because we got there so very late after our flight, making it impossible for us to find another place, we stayed the night and contacted the host in the morning. We then immediately left. It was inhabitable.
