Right outside the unit, is "el mirador" which offers spectacular views of the mountains and view of the lake. Breakfast included on weekends only.

5-Star and then some

Suite 5 was recommended to me. The Suite and the entire property exceeded my expectations. John’s, (The Property Manager) recommendations for breakfast and dinner were also excellent. Roy H.

Nice property but no hot water

We originally booked a regular suite. A day before check-in our host said there was a cancelation and we were upgraded to a one bedroom with full kitchen . Despite having to climb about 50 steps the unit was nice..a bit odd but generally nice. Until the next morning when we had no hot water and we needed ice cold showers. I later located an old tiny water heater that had been shut off. I informed the host who originally apologized then told us in no uncertain terms to never use hot water and shower in another unit on a different level that wasn't available until 1.30 . Our host said he shouldn't have moved us to his "best" unit. We the noticed our original suite was open I looked in and it was old tired and the bathroom was torn up. There was no cancelation just another unit was damaged and required untold repair. After our experience with hot water..the primitive tiny heater and the sorry condition of our original unit I cannot recommend. There's lots of accommodation in Ajijic and most of it is much less expensive

Beautiful villa and wonderful hosts

We stayed at this beautiful property for a week and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The villa is not only beautiful but is clean, comfortable, relaxing and peaceful. John and Gaby were excellent hosts. They were warm, friendly and very helpful. They provided us with recommendations for restaurants as well as sights to see and visit. We plan to return to Ajijic next year and will definitely stay at this villa again. When in Ajijic, do yourself a favor and book your stay here. You won't be sorry!

Elegance, tranquility and great location

You open the gate to Villa del Pájaro de Sola and you’re introduced to elegant sophisticated courtyard surrounded be the beautiful architecture. The suites are beautifully decorated. Staff attentive, and the owners are charming and very accessible. There is no doubt that this will work outmr “go to” every time we vidit Ajijic!

Amazing accommodations in a beautifully renovated boutique hotel

This is an amazing place to stay in Ajijic. John has done a wonderful job renovating this boutique hotel. The rooms have everything your need for a comfortable stay. It has the feel of a 5 star hotel. It's one of the first VRBOs that I've stayed in that was nicer than the pictures. The grounds are beautiful with an amazing pool, beautiful gardens and interesting art. Everything is maintained to perfection by Luis. This has to be one of the best places to stay on Lake Chapala.

I would definitely recommend this place. The hosts and everyone there was extremely friendly and helpful. They made us feel like kings. The location is right by the lake making it super convenient for activities in Lake Chapala. Looking forward to being back and definetly would stay there

The property is perfectly situated on Lake Chapala in Ajijic, and affords maximum privacy and open spaces in the courtyard to relax and visit with other guests. The 5 rooms are exquisitely decorated, yet comfortable and welcoming. It is located only a few blocks from the plaza and there are restaurants, galleries and shops right outside the gate. Our room had a kitchenette which we really enjoyed and used regularly. Cabs are readily available in the plaza and bicycle rentals are on the Main Street. I would highly recommend this venue and we will return as often as we can.
