Among the most famous are Villa Olmo, a fine example of neoclassical architecture and the site of important exhibitions, and “La Rotonda,” a villa built at the end of the 18th century and the seat of the Provincial Administration. Near the lakefront is the city's main square, dominated by the Broletto (the old municipal palace built in 1215).
