Welcome to this charming mountain bungalow in Cedar Mountain, NC - a cozy and romantic retreat tucked away in the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Just 11 minutes from Pretty Place, this home is an especially wonderful choice for couples celebrating their wedding weekend, guests attending a ceremony at this breathtaking mountaintop venue, or anyone looking for a peaceful mountain getaway. Recently updated and tastefully decorated, this inviting home is also just minutes from DuPont State Recreational Forest and about 15 minutes from downtown Brevard, making it an ideal home base for hiking, waterfalls, biking, dining, and exploring Western North Carolina.
The main entrance welcomes you into the open great room, where the living room, kitchen, and dining areas come together beneath a beautiful cathedral ceiling. Comfortable seating creates a cozy place to unwind after a day of exploring or celebrating, while the kitchen is equipped with new appliances and the essentials you ll need during your stay. A washer and dryer and good WiFi add convenience for longer stays.
The primary bedroom is located just off the main living area and features a queen-sized bed and private bathroom with a tub and shower. The second bedroom is five steps down from the living room and features two queen-sized beds, making it a great option for friends, family, or wedding guests traveling together. A second bathroom is located just steps from the bedroom door, giving this room the feel of a second primary suite.
One of the home s most distinctive features is its eclectic collection of travel memorabilia. Photographs from the owners travels around the world and a large collection of destination magnets add personality and a sense of adventure throughout the home - a fun touch for fellow travelers and anyone who loves to explore.
Step outside onto the covered front porch and settle into one of the two rocking chairs while enjoying the peaceful mountain surroundings. It s a lovely spot to sip coffee, unwind after a day of adventure, or simply slow down and enjoy time together. Bicycles can also be stored conveniently beneath the porch.
Cedar Mountain offers the perfect blend of outdoor adventure and laid-back mountain charm. Explore the trails and waterfalls of nearby DuPont State Recreational Forest, grab food and drinks at Cedar Mountain Canteen, browse local finds at Cedar Mountain Outpost, experience a taste of the area s mountain heritage at Cedar Mountain Moonshine, or stop by Hiker and the Hound, a favorite for hikers, dog lovers, and outdoor enthusiasts. As your host during your stay, White Squirrel Realty is easy to reach by text or phone. Each home is supplied with fresh, professionally laundered linens and supplies to make your stay comfortable. Our cleaning crew is local, paid a living wage and are trained so that you can enjoy your vacation in a clean home.
Confirmed guests will receive a text message to the cell phone on the reservation with a link to the essential information you need to enjoy your stay like the door code and the directions. The digital guide book has information on the property and also on the area including restaurants, grocery stores and popular destinations. Guests can go straight to the property at check-in time.

The Deep Forest Green Cottage was an ideal location for us this trip, as we planned our stay around a viewing of sunrise at Symmes Chapel, just magical to witness there.

Fall Break Getaway

The place was perfect for us (myself, my wife and our 10 year old daughter and her best friend, our 2 year old Boaxador (maybe). We hiked and ate out in Brevard and also had a great lunch at the Cedar Mountain Cafe. Highly Recommend the place.

Last minute getaway

Friends told us about the Dupont State Forest and Pisgah National Forest. Decided to take a last minute trip and go on a couple of hikes. Was glad we found this cabin. It was close to both forest yet in a quiet and private area. The cabin was clean and very comfortable. Would stay again.

Lovely, cozy spot

Falling asleep to a little bit of rain on the tin roof was wonderful! It was a great size for a family of 4 and we loved exploring the Cedar Mountain area, Brevard and Hendersonville. Don’t forget to bring your own coffee & creamer if you’re a coffee fiend like me. Thanks for a lovely time!

Quiet location in the Woods

This property is close enough to everything (Dupont, Ceasar's Head, Brevard, etc), but far enough away that you have silence at the cottage. No traffic noise or dogs barking if you need a quiet place to stay. The property was equipped with everything needed and the check-in/out procedures were clear and simple. Very clean.

The cottage was comfortable, clean, and private. The setting was ideal for nature lovers. There was an Eastern Phoebe nest in the eaves that was fun to watch. We appreciated the timely communication from White Squirrel regarding check-in and check-out. We felt like we could get ahold of someone should the need arise.

Stay went very smoothly. Rental had everything you would need for your stay. Everything was up to date and the property was very nicely decorated . Great stay!

We had a great stay! The property was clean and had more than enough room. The kitchen had everything we needed for preparing a nice meal. The porches provided quiet retreat surrounded by trees. Thank you for making is so comfortable! We will definitely look at staying here again when we return to the area.
