I Ubered straight from the airport on a late flight. Made sure this was a 24/7 hotel and made them aware I would check in late. Tiny vestibule was open, lobby was locked. Sign said âwe will be back soonâ. Standing alone in a sketchy part of town in an unlocked vestibule was not great. Called the hotel, they answered and just said ok. Thought that meant someone was headed to me. Waited 10 more minutes. Called again. Same person answered and was angry and said â no one is coming to the front deskâ. I asked how to get a refund and started worrying how I was going to an Uber and a different hotel at 1 in the morning. The person hung and walked around the wall-they had been there the whole time. They blamed me-âyou should have come inâ. Me-the door is locked. Them-you should have rung the bell. Me-the sign says donât ring the bell we will be right back and I called you and actually spoke with you. Them-still your fault and you shouldnât threaten refund. Room was dingy, outdated but not different than expected, tbh.
