Casterton golf club and Kirkby Lonsdale golf club are both within easy reach. There is a local pub just a two-minute walk away serving excellent food along with an excellent beer garden, perfect for summer evenings. The neighbouring town of Kirkby Lonsdale, just a few minutes’ drive away, has a plethora of independent shops, bars and restaurants to explore. A picnic by the River Lune during the warmer months is a wonderful way to spend a day, as is a stroll along its banks en route to Devil’s Bridge, a popular gathering place for motorcyclists, walkers, and cyclists. The nearby village of Barbon hosts the Churchmouse cafe and deli.

Heading east and set in the Yorkshire Dales, the popular village of Ingleton has an indoor climbing and bouldering wall, cycle pump track, outdoor swimming pool and a children’s riverside play area. There are many walks in the area, including the famous waterfall trail and White Scar Caves.
