Tucked away in the heart of Laugharne, hidden behind lush, exotically landscaped gardens, The Cors is a truly special countryside retreat. Originally an elegant Victorian residence, this stunning home has been thoughtfully transformed, blending timeless period charm with modernist artworks to create an effortlessly stylish and unique escape.

The former restaurant of renowned chef and gardener Nick Priestland which has also featured in the BAFTA award winning drama BBC's Keeping Faith! Hidden from the main street in Laugharne, behind its exotically landscaped grounds, is The Cors, a very special country house. Converted from an exquisite Victorian house, we have brought this building to life and created a charming blend of period pieces and modernist artworks. A bohemian bolt hole, one of the best - the 2-acre garden is a perfect retreat in the summer months. The artistic sensibility is visible in everything we do from the drama of the gardens to the quirky decoration of the house.
The Cors offers three large living areas where you can relax and unwind, listen to music on our smart multi-room Sonos speaker system, play with a range of board games, shoot some pool or watch a film in the newly appointed cinema room, again with Sky & Netflix on our 75inch TV with games console. If that doesn't interest you can always become a bartender for the evening and serve cocktails and drinks from behind the old bar. The large well stocked kitchen caters for your every need. With a newly installed oven and induction hob, and modern appliances with the traditional surroundings, what more could you want. There is comfortable dining for 10 people. Completing the ground floor is the utility room, a large space ideal for shoes, wellies, coats and empty luggage, housing the washing machine, tumble drier and dishwasher. Also access to back staircase, and fire escape route.
Upstairs, there are three large double rooms with en-suite, modern bathrooms with walk-in showers, and a corner bath in one of the bedrooms. There is also a king and twin bedroom which has the use of the main bathroom on the 1st floor. Four of the five bedrooms are equipped with large Smart TV's with Sky and Netflix. All rooms reflect the elegant âshabby-chicâ style of the Cors Country House with with stunning garden views.
The garden is a perfect retreat for a sunny day, there is a range of seating available to chill out and soak up some sun or even have a BBQ Translated from Welsh The Cors means bog, which is what Nick Priestland had to work with when he created his beautiful landscaped garden set in a wooded valley bordering the Corran river. Consisting of approximately 2 and half acres, this well designed large bog garden has ponds, gunnera, bamboos and tree-ferns. It is an exceptional, elegant and artistic garden with unusual architectural and exotic planting, dotted with sculptures. Please be aware of the open ponds and river to the side of grounds as there are no railings.
The large private car park has enough space for at-least 8 cars.
