I was surprised how big the house is, 5 bdrm 3 bath. Both upstairs and downstairs has a kitchen, dining area and living room. Upstairs is 3bdrm 2 bath, downstairs 3 bedrm 1 bath. Nice wrap around porch and a swimming pool. The negative is no ocean access, you can see the ocean but havekling. to drive for beachs or swimming/snor
This house accommodated our family of 10 easily. having our own pool was a big plus for the kids. The kitchen allowed for preparation of in-house meals, and eating on the deck was great - facing west toward the sunset. The location is remote and secluded. Its a long, winding drive down to the shore and Milo'lii where the house is located. If you like quiet, secluded and clam surroundings, then this is definitely for you. There is no beach to speak of for swimming and snorkeling. We did not mind the 90 minute drive to various attractions - volcanos, cloud forest, luau in Kona - though the roads can be winding and hilly and sometimes narrow. My family loved it!!!!
We loved the accommodations for our family. Enough room for all the couples and kiddos. A little ways to get to any of the places, but that is kind of how island life works. One shower liner was on its last leg, so had to take off, but other than that everything worked great!
We love the location and are indeed neighbors to the property. This area is well cared for and the subdivision shares the respect and neighborly kindness necessary to keep Milolii a treasured spot. The hosts are gracious and their attention to family and comfort is exceptional. Just a kind note: The immediate ocean access is not suited for every age which makes the pool a wonderful alternative for families with kids.
Our recent stay at this beautiful home in Hawaii was absolutely incredible! The property is even more stunning than the pictures, with breathtaking ocean views. The house was spacious, easily accommodating our group, and the private pool was a huge hit. We spent countless hours enjoying the amazing views and relaxing in the pool. The lack of AC was not an issue for us, as the constant breeze kept things comfortable both indoors and outdoors throughout our stay.A car rental is definitely required as the location is a bit remote and to fully explore the island and take advantage of all the nearby attractions.
The house in itself was great with a pool. The journey to get to the house not as much. Lots of turns and isolated. Things to note for families with young kids: the closest store is atleast 30 -40 mins out. The upstairs and downstairs are not accessible fromWithin the house, you have to use the deck and outdoor stairs to access.Tammy was v helpful and responsive. She sent a list of recommended spots which helped with our sightseeing. We had a couple of initial issues on the first night but otherwise the place was great.
Eight of us went for just over a week and we absolutely loved this house! The host was very easy to communicate with and always responded very quickly. It was a clean, large property with a beautiful view! The only thing we weren't expecting is that it actually is about an hour and 15-30 minutes to get to anything in Kona. We had a lot of excursions up there and different flight times, so it was A LOT of driving, but we'd stay again because the house was definitely worth it. Thanks for a great first experience in Hawaii!!
The house is beautiful with excellent ocean views and plenty of space for our large family. Kids really enjoyed the swimming pool.
Downsides are location and no air conditioning. We knew there was no air conditioning going into it, but just know that the first day you are there, all of the windows will be shut and fans will be off (understandable) but this makes it unbearably hot until you open everything and get the breeze going. Once we got the house cooled off, it was fine the first few days, but the last few days there was minimal breeze so it was still too hot. We ended up checking out a day early for 2 reasons: it was way too hot and the house is over an hour from the airport. I thought it was only 20 minutes from Kona since on a map it looks like Captain Cook is 20 minutes from Kona. However, the house is an hour from Kona because it is in Miolii (this is stated in the listing, I just didn't see it). So the downside of the trip was after driving an hour or 2 to go see something for the day, we then had to drive an hour or 2 back. There is no nightlife within walking distance.
Overall, this is an excellent home and I would recommend it if you are ok with driving a lot and no air conditioning. Tammy was very responsive when we had a few issues the first day. If I were to do the trip differently, I would stay 4-5 nights at this house, and the rest of my time in a hotel either in Hilo or Kona within walking distance of activities.
We were a party of 10, 9 of us aged 18-69,one is 10. The road down(and I mean down!) to the house takes some getting used to and is tricky at night with no street lights, but take it slow and youâll be fine, worth it for the view! We all had plenty of places to sleep, plenty of bathrooms, 2 kitchens, and a pool! Not a good place for all of us to sit together for meals, but we made it work, Tammy was great about answering our questions and solving a few minor issues in a timely manor.
A small downside is groceries and other shopping is not real close, but thatâs about it. Great place for a larger group to have a lot of quality time without the hubbub of a resort or city.
This house did not disappoint⊠beautiful view of the ocean, sunset, and hillside! I was a little worried about not having air conditioning but the breeze and fans throughout the house were all we needed. The pool was a great touch when it got warm during the day. The house has a great selection of dishes, pots & pans, tupperware, and plenty of beach towels.
5 bedroom (2K, 2Q, 1F/1T Bunk, & Extra Futon in living area) were perfect for my group of 8 and the 3 full bathrooms were a huge plus for everyone to get ready at one time!
House is located about 1h from Kona strip (Aliâi Drive) with lots of shops, places to eat, parasailing, and submarine tours. And about 1h 30m from Hawaii Volcano National Park and Punaluâu Black Sand Beach. The drive both ways have stunning views!!
I Highly Recommend this house and would definitely stay here again!
This house is very spacious with a beautiful view. Well appointed and very clean.
The pool had a little too much chlorine.
The house is located quite far from the shopping centres and beaches accessible in winter.
My family really enjoyed staying here. I will say it is a little remote so you should plan before going but once we were there, we really enjoyed it. My family is already planning on going back.
We totally enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, spacious house. We had everything we needed- the kitchen was very well stocked. The private pool was perfect and very clear and we took full advantage of it, swimming several times a day. We ventured out to nearby beaches and sites from this âlava land,â like nothing weâd seen! Very relaxing stay!! Highly recommend!
Beautiful home with a private pool and a gorgeous view of the sunset every night. If you want to escape the business of life, this is a great place to stay.
Weâve stayed at other homes in Milolii and this was our favorite! The house was decorated beautifully. Loved the pool, Master bed (so comfy), Master bath, and lanai! Will try to stay here again.
The house is overall beautiful. The neighborhood is very quiet. As stated in the description it is far from town. So plan wisely for shopping purposes. Would recommend to family and friends.
Tammy was an outstanding host. And the house was great! It was a family trip (two family units and grandma) so 5 adults and 2 kids. While the switchbacks to get down the hill to the neighborhood were a tad harrowing at night, the drive was well worth it. We could lounge in the pool and watch the sun set over the Pacific. Gorgeous. The kitchen was perfect for breakfast and dinner, and we did day trips to the beach, volcano, winery, coffee farm, downtown Kona, etc. Highly recommended!
