The Ancient Mariner Retreat

Summary:
The Ancient Mariner is a stunning, spacious retreat that provides delicious breakfast
supplies and also a decanter of port! Opposite is the nature reserve leading to the
beautiful Colonnades surf beach!
The Ancient Mariner is accessed through a gate that leads to your private courtyard.
On entering the retreat you step into a fabulous, newly renovated private studio
apartment located at the front of the main house, this has plenty of light flooding through
the large picture windows that are overlooking the Banksia trees in the courtyard. Here
you can watch the Wattle birds and Black Cockatoos in the trees! The retreat has 5 meter
ceilings and a stunning polished concrete floor with under floor heating. There is an
elegant modern bathroom. The Ancient Mariner is fitted out with bespoke antique
furniture, barn doors and a central grand double sided wood fire!

The Space:
The studio apartment
has an alluring antique four posted bed and gorgeous linen for a cosy night’s sleep.
Fresh flowers and lush green plants adorn the relaxing space.
The apartment includes a television with streaming channels, including Netflix.
Free WIFI is provided.
The kitchenette is equipped with a barista coffee machine, toaster, kettle, microwave,
electric fry pan, rice cooker, fridge/freeze, crockery and all utensils.

Provisions for your stay include a supply of freshly ground coffee, a selection of teas, milk, sugar and juice. There are some delicious extras included too!
In the courtyard the BBQ and an outdoor table setting are there for you to enjoy those
warm summer nights having a glass of wine on the deck! An outside shower is there for
you to use after a day on the beach!
The new bathroom has a shower, toilet, free standing bath, all with beautiful fittings.
Towels, a bath mat, luxury shampoo, conditioner and hand soap.
Please note 2 beach towels are provided.
The retreat is only suitable for adults. It is accessed by a key safe for self check-in.
Philip Island is a beautiful island full of many different species of birds and wildlife. There
are gorgeous cliff top walks, numerous unspoilt beaches all over the island for you to
explore. The island is a fabulous surfing location, one of the main surfing beaches is only
500 meters stroll from the retreat!
Our hearts are to provide our guests with an extra special experience. The Ancient
Mariner is unique, it is a twist of antique and modern, a touch of class, creating a romantic
atmosphere for you to be able to relax and feel refreshed, restored and rejuvenated!

The property has a driveway with parking for up to 1 vehicle.

Please note that the fireplace pictured in the photos does not have a safety gate, we only supply a starter kit for the fire, for any longer use guests will have to purchase extra at own expense
