This villa is situated in one of the most beautiful areas of the
Helderberg district, known as Somerset West, making it the perfect base
from which to explore the Cape Winelands and surrounding areas.
Located within Knorhoek Estate, this double-storey private sanctuary is
surrounded by pristine fynbos and offers breathtaking panoramic views
of the Atlantic Ocean and surrounding mountains. Guests can enjoy the
unique experience of off-grid living without compromise, within the
safe and secluded environment of this prestigious estate.
One of the standout features of the property is its full energy
independence, powered by 90 solar panels and an 80 kWh battery system.
Heating throughout the villa is provided by wall-mounted heated panels,
internal gas heaters, and additional electric heaters, ensuring
year-round comfort.
The villa features bright, open-plan living areas that seamlessly blend
indoor and outdoor spaces. The upper level includes a spacious lounge
opening onto a large balcony with spectacular views of False Bay, as
well as a stylish kitchen and dining area. Two king-size bedrooms with
en-suite bathrooms are located on this level. The top floor is
wheelchair-friendly, with no steps or changes in level, and Bedroom 1
is equipped with handicap-accessible bathroom facilities.
The lower level offers a second living space with its own kitchen,
dining, and lounge area, along with two interleading king-size bedrooms
with en-suite bathrooms and direct access to the outdoor area. Please
note that this level is accessed via stairs and is therefore not
wheelchair-friendly.
The outdoor area features a heated infinity swimming pool, maintained
at approximately 26°C. Pool loungers provide the ideal setting for
relaxation and entertaining while taking in the surrounding natural
scenery and views.
Air conditioning is available in the common family living spaces
upstairs; however, there are no air-conditioning units in the bedrooms,
which are instead equipped with portable fans. The property also
includes a self-contained cottage with a private entrance, which is not
included in the rental.
Dining services are available upon request, including breakfast
prepared by the on-site cook for an additional fee. Lunch and dinner
can also be arranged at an extra cost. A farm manager is on-site during
working hours and is available to assist guests with any needs or
personalised requests in collaboration with the Property Host.
Knorhoek Estate is home to the Idiom Wines restaurant, located just
minutes from the villa and offering fine dining in a beautiful vineyard
setting. Somerset West provides easy access to local shops,
attractions, and renowned wineries, and attracts visitors from around
the world with its magnificent views of the Helderberg and Hottentots
Holland mountain ranges and sweeping bay vistas. While staying here,
guests can enjoy wine tasting, explore the Helderberg Nature Reserve,
or visit Cheetah Outreach for a unique wildlife experience.
For security and safety purposes, guests are required to provide full names, identification, details of any children travelling, vehicle registrations, and estimated arrival times prior to check-in. This information will be treated confidentially, and failure to submit it on time may result in delayed or denied check-in.
All our properties are strictly non-smoking, and tenants accept full liability for all minors and visitors. Pets, parties, and events are not permitted.
For stays of 8 nights or more, a complimentary mid-stay clean, including fresh linen, will be provided. Additional cleaning services can be arranged upon request with a minimum of 24 hours' notice and will incur an extra charge.
A refundable key and breakage deposit is payable prior to check-in, with the amount determined by the quality of the establishment and applied at the discretion of the owner or management.
Please be advised that, to promote a sustainable and comfortable experience for all our guests, electricity usage is governed by a fair use policy that permits a reasonable amount of daily consumption. In the rare event of unusually high usage, a reimbursement may be requested
