Six bedroom suites provide a deeply restful retreat, each designed as a private haven with canopied or fourposter beds, fine furnishings and beautifully appointed bathrooms with walk-in showers, some also featuring decadent baths. Modern comforts such as the lift, air-conditioning and the custom-designed kitchen sit effortlessly alongside historic charm, ensuring both indulgence and ease from morning to night.


Life at the château flows naturally between historic interiors and the open air. The landscaped park frames far reaching views across the valley towards the Montagne Noire, offering a constantly shifting backdrop to days spent outdoors. Set at the foot of the Montagne Noire, the final outcrop of the Massif Central before the majestic Pyrenees, Château de Charles-Henri enjoys a wonderfully evocative setting within its beautiful parkland. At the crossroads of the Tarn, Aude and Haute Garonne, this region allows you to immerse yourself in a region rich in history, unspoilt landscapes and refined gastronomic traditions. Between charming villages and a deep-rooted art of living, this part of southern France reveals its most authentic character.


Just moments away, the historic Tarn village of Sorèze (2.5km) enchants with its narrow lanes, abbey-school heritage and café-lined squares, perfect for a leisurely wander. A little further on, Revel (8km) is famed for its vibrant Saturday market, widely regarded as one of the finest in France, where colourful stalls brim with local cheeses, charcuterie and seasonal produce beneath the medieval covered hall. Nearby, the Bassin de Saint-Ferréol offers a scenic lakeside escape, ideal for gentle walks, picnics and waterside relaxation.


The surrounding Montagne Noire provides a dramatic natural playground, with forested trails, quiet villages and panoramic viewpoints waiting to be explored. Walkers and cyclists will appreciate the varied terrain, while peaceful country roads reveal hidden hamlets and far-reaching views across the plains.


From the château, you are also perfectly placed for day trips deeper into south-west France to visit the Cathar castles, including Saissac Castle (26km), the episcopal city of Albi (64km) and the iconic medieval citadel of Carcassonne (53km).


Food and wine lovers will feel equally at home. Local markets and restaurants celebrate the generous flavours of the region, from cassoulet and duck confit to delicate fruit tarts. The wider region is also excellent for wine-tasting in Gaillac and the Languedoc, where vineyards produce characterful reds, whites and rosés that reflect the diversity of the surrounding landscapes.
