The House
Casa Mar y Olas was designed by a Costa Rican architect with a clear intention: luxury that feels airy, natural, and inviting. Nestled in a beloved eco-community with walkable restaurants and a three-minute walk to four miles of undeveloped national park beach, the 2024-built villa sleeps 12 across five private en-suite bedrooms.
Every room reflects that design philosophy — quality materials, considered layout, and the kind of comfort that makes 12 people feel at home rather than at a hotel.

The main house offers three spacious bedrooms: a serene ground-floor primary suite with a king bed and both indoor and outdoor showers, plus two upstairs en-suite bedrooms that convert between king or twin configurations. The open-plan living and dining areas move fluidly between indoor and outdoor gathering spaces, making it easy for the group to be together or spread out across the property as the mood shifts.

The outdoor spaces
The living areas flow directly outside to a large pool and patio, where the property opens up into multiple distinct gathering spaces — a shaded lounge for long afternoon conversations, sun beds along the pool for quiet mornings, an oversized hanging egg chair, and artisan-crafted dining tables for an unhurried dinner or game night. Whether it’s a lazy pool morning, sunset cocktails, or a full group dinner, the layout was built around the rhythms of a great trip.

Kitchen & Guest Comforts
The chef’s kitchen is fully stocked with quality appliances, cookware, and ample dishware—everything you need to cook together or bring in a private chef and let someone else handle it. The whole-house water filtration system means guests can drink confidently from any tap throughout the property. All bathrooms are stocked with locally made soap, shampoo, body wash, and hand soap, along with hair dryers. All beds are fitted with high-end mattresses and quality linens for a genuinely restful night's sleep.

Connectivity
For those who need to stay connected, the house features state-of-the-art Wi-Fi with a smart dual-network system that blends fiber-optic internet with Starlink satellite. If one service slows or goes down, the system instantly switches to the other—giving you the fastest, most reliable connection available for streaming, gaming, and remote work. Multiple dedicated desk areas make it easy to blend work or school with the trip.

Playa Grande
Playa Grande is the kind of place that earns genuine loyalty. Part of Las Baulas National Marine Park, it sits on four miles of undeveloped Pacific coastline — a favorite among locals, families, and surfers who keep coming back. The waves draw a steady community of riders; the jungle-fringed streets and walkable restaurants keep things relaxed and local. This is a town that hasn’t been polished for tourists, and that’s exactly the point. For those who want a livelier scene, Tamarindo — with its shops, restaurants, and nightlife — is just a short boat ride across the estuary or a quick drive away. Giant leatherback sea turtles nest on the beach seasonally, and howler monkeys call from the trees overhead.

The Apartment

Casa Mar y Olas is a peaceful, non-smoking residential retreat. Out of respect for our neighbors, we ask that outdoor gatherings wrap up by 11pm. This home is made for families and friend groups who appreciate a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere — not large events or parties.
