En face de la plage dans le luxueux Palm Beach Estates de Playa Grande, cette maison de quatre chambres est nichée sur un grand terrain paysager avec une piscine à l'avant et la réserve naturelle à l'arriÚre. Il y a un nouveau patio couvert dans les arbres au-dessus du garage pour 2 voitures. Si vous avez de la chance, vous verrez des singes hurleurs à partir de là ou au retour du coucher du soleil sur la plage isolée - et plusieurs des meilleurs restaurants et bars haut de gamme de Guanacaste ne sont qu'à quelques pùtés de maisons.

La maison principale dispose de 3 chambres et 2 salles de bain complÚtes ainsi qu'une maison d'hÎtes semi-attenante avec une chambre / salle de bain complÚte. Toutes les chambres sont équipées de lits queen size et de lits superposés, de la climatisation et de ventilateurs de plafond. La chambre principale a un lit King
Deux autres chambres ont un lit QUEEN et un lit superposé dans chacune.

Séjour merveilleux! Pura Vida! La villa était parfaite, le service de conciergerie était trÚs réactif. Le patio avec moustiquaire était parfait pour les soirées. Le restaurant Café Mar Azul était délicieux et la plage toujours aussi parfaite. Nous y retournerons avec plaisir!

Loin de la ville, mais prĂšs de la plage

Nous avons sĂ©journĂ© Ă  cette maison pendant 5 jours. Nous Ă©tions 9 personnes ( 4 adultes et 5 enfants). Il y avait amplement d'espaces pour tous. En gĂ©nĂ©ral, nous avons trĂšs apprĂ©ciĂ© notre sĂ©jour Ă  la Casa Kalumina. Nous avons apprĂ©cier la proximitĂ© de la Playa Grande et la tranquilitĂ© du secteur. Le tout Ă©tait bien entretenu. L'eau de la piscine Ă©tait clair et bien entretenu. La personne qui s'occupait de nous Ă©tait trĂšs facile Ă  rejoindre et l'ensemble de nos questions ou requĂȘtes ont Ă©tĂ© rĂ©pondues. Il faut ĂȘtre conscient qu'il n'y pas d'Ă©picerie proche et que vous devez roulez entre 20-30 minutes pour vous rendre Ă  Tamarindo. Par contre il y a un dĂ©panneur tout prĂȘt avec beaucoup de choses ( mĂȘme alcool, vins, biĂšres). La playa grande est magnifique et trĂšs pratique pour une famille avec enfants. L'eau est peu profonde et les vagues permettent de faire du buggy board en toute sĂ©curitĂ©. Les jeunes ont vraiment profitĂ© de cette superbe plage. Nous avons Ă©galement trĂšs apprĂ©ciĂ© nos soirĂ©es dans la vĂ©randa complĂštement fermĂ© par des moustiquaires.

Our stay at Casa Kalumina with our children and grandchild was wonderful. The environment was very comfortable and the kitchen had everything needed to cook, including some spices. Our hosts were very responsive with any issue and suggestions. The large screened porch with a grill and large table for eating was an essential bonus for us as we spent much of our time there. The pool was perfect at the end of the day and the grounds are beautiful and well kept.The beach was a quick 5 minute walk and chairs were provided at the casa. We ate often at Cafe Mar Azul, a small outdoor restaurant with great food and a childrens menu and play area. We would highly recommend this property.

Family Vacation

We had a great time staying at Casa Lumina in Palm Beach Estate at Playa Grande!Great communication with Shawna the property manager who arranged our airport transfers and local rental car too.Short walk to the beach access, water taxi to Tamarindo, local restaurants are all highlights of staying here. The property pool is refreshing and the grounds are well maintained. We enjoyed the screened porch, and the kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. One of our best visits ever to Playa Grande!

Playa Grande family retreat

Enjoyed a wonderful beach vacation with a very short walk to the beach. Cafe Mar de Azul is next door and provides a convenient location to eat. Howler monkeys were seen and the pool was well maintained. Highlights of the trip were taking the water taxi to Tamarindo and enjoying a sunset cruise on Playa Flamingo. All in all I highly recommend!

It was so perfect. Everyone loves staying here. We will recommend to our friends and it is definitely our new favorite place in the Tamarindo area. We love to eating on the screened in back porch, and the barbecue and flat grill was perfect. Amazing murals & all the rooms/bathrooms were better than advertised. Large stocked kitchen. We had 8 adults & one small child & everyone hated to leave.

Beautiful property that was perfect for our stay. It’s an easy walk to the beach or restaurant. The sunset views, awesome waves, animals/birds, fruits will be bringing us back soon. The beds were comfortable, A/C was cold, full kitchen, and grill made it easy to prepare meals during our visit. The outdoor shower was great to wash off the excess sand and screened in patio were a definite plus.

Lovely beach escape

Wonderful stay at this lovely property. It’s a short walk from the beach and has several food options/restaurants within walking distance as well. Several options to rent beach gear (including surfboards) also within walking distance. Shawna was exceptionally responsive, and she helped us book a wonderful horseback ride on another local beach. The pool was a nice break from the beach, and there was a lot of room for hanging out and relaxing at the end of the day. If you’re looking for a nice beach trip, this is a great choice to experience the Pura Vida culture of Costa Rica.

The Perfect Getaway!!!

This place was perfect! A very clean and spacious place with a true Costa Rican vibe! Our family of 9 found it to have all the amenities we needed. Comfy beds and big kitchen with everything needed for cooking. The pool was a bit smaller than anticipated but we all used it everyday with no issue!The private casita room had a broken AC when we first arrived but Shawna and Jorge responded instantly and it was fixed by the time we woke up the following morning.In fact, our hosts, especially Shawna were incredibly helpful and responsive for the entire duration of our stay. Shawna set up our shuttles to and from the airport, stocked groceries for our arrival and arranged a snorkeling trip (probably the best we've ever been on)The beach access was perhaps the highlight. Less than a 5 minute walk and then faced with a long stretch a soft sand and a quiet beach. We brought our own umbrellas and used the tent provided by the property. Local surfers and surfer camp students made up most of the other beach comers and we just loved the atmosphere.Access to Tamarindo was a 10 minute walk to the water taxis. But we preferred the quiet of our area. The property is in a small community with some local restaurants (delicious) and shops including a min-mart with some food items (breads, eggs, milks, cereal, coffee). For big groceries (meat, vegetables) you would need to plan accordingly to head to Tamarindo or Playa Grande.Overall, loved our stay and would highly recommend!

Family Trip

This home is in a very quiet neighborhood with a 4 minute walk to the beach. We enjoyed watching the surfers on the water. Owners are super sweet and available if needed. I would definitely come back to this home.

Villa as per pictures. 3 bedrooms in main villa including 2 large ones with adjacent bathrooms very appreciated. The 4th bedroom in outside casita does not have wifi. All bedrooms have air conditioning, a must to enjoy sleep. Beds were comfortable. Huge screened porch very nice and bbq quite useful. Kitchen very well equipped with a large number of pots and various accessories. One fridge rather tight for large family like ours. Beach towels and accessories very useful namely the tent for shade and the 4 chairs. No body surfs though. Small swimming pool as described. Water shortages at check in and on departure. Very good assistance from Shawna and Jorge for these issues. Very kind in providing tips / suggestions and booking chef for a birthday dinner. Area was noisy (roof construction, adjacent villa) but not Shawna-Jorge fault. Exceptional beach.

Great Spot for families

We stayed here with friends and family ages ranging from 2-14 and loved our time here. The screened in outdoor patio was great and there was a nice large table and grill. The pool was a bit smaller than what we thought, but was still enjoyed. The beach was walking distance and the sunsets are UNBELEIVABLE. We loved our stay here!

Peaceful Oasis On The Beach

Loved the place! Loved the Neighborhood! Loved the Beach! This was a wonderful quiet little spot just steps from gorgeous Playa Grande. If you want the hustle and bustle of Tamarindo it's only a quick water taxi away but feels like another world here. Plenty of great places to eat and drink and things to do just steps away but secluded and peaceful if you just want to soak in the pool on a hot day. Catch the extraordinary sunset on the beach and then treat yourself to a fresh fat tuna steak at Cafe Mar Azul! A perfect day!

Great Property Wasted due to poor management

House is a great size and layout. neighborhood is fantastic with great proximity to beaches and restaurants, etc. The screen room is particularly uNeful. When in a country like Costa Rica you have to be prepared for bugs and critters. However, it is reasonable to expect efforts to be taken to minimize them. In this case, the property manager does not seem to care in the least. The very first night we killed half a dozen cockroaches and figured out they were coming out of the shower drain. We solved this for the stay by covering the drains when we were not using them which meant we only had a few more to deal with over the stay. A simple stainless steel screen could have been installed. Then we turned off the lights to go to bed but 15 minutes later turned a kitchen light back on there was at least 50 ants crawling all over the counters. We had only just arrived and there was NO food anywhere. We fogged the kitchen with raid but ultimately leaving the lights on in the main areas all night was the only way to control the situation. This took the ants down to a manageable situation. You could also see where the carpenter type ants were eating through doors from the bottom. We also had live crabs and a scorpion to deal with. If this was my house I would be concerned. We checked out 2 days early and advised the property manager. We never received any form of acknowledgement or communication - none. Very unprofessional & in line with the standards we saw in use.

We had a nice stay at Casa Kalumina! House was in perfect location. Easy to get in touch with Shawna and Jorge during our stay for any questions we had. House had all the necessities! Spacious and A/C kept us comfortable during our stay. The outside was well maintained and kids enjoyed the pool which was mainly shaded and perfect for enjoying outside w warm temperatures. Less than 5 min walk to beach! Sunsets on beach were beautiful! We did surf lessons from Playa Grande Surf Camp right next door. We enjoyed the tight knit community and all the restaurants. 3 are in short walking distance and ALL had great food. There was a coffee shop close by as well. Grateful Dead restaurant had live music and was helpful in arranging water taxi to Tamarindo and several excursions. We did private estuary tour, walked around Tamarindo, surf lessons, and 4 person ATV side by side tour to remote beaches while staying at this house! Would highly recommend this house and location!! Thank you!!
