The Space:
Welcome to The Hawthorne House!
This timeless half duplex is the perfect mix of history and modern charm. The Hawthorne House is a 1 bed 1 bath home that shares only the front porch entrance and hallway with your neighbor across the hall. Each unit has its own private, secure entrance from the hallway. You have 5 steps to get into the home but once inside, everything is on one level for easy access.
While much of the magic happens inside the home, the location is amazing! You are walking distance to some of downtown historical Brunswick's best gastropubs, breweries, shops and dessert! Have dinner at Tipsy McSways (casual) or 1509 (fine dining) followed by dessert at Vampire Penguin (trust us). You can end the evening at Reid's Apothecary where this is a speakeasy that has some amazing libations!
You can also walk to the Mary Ross Waterfront where you can often find live music or festivals.
The home is a quick 7 minute drive to the College of Coastal Georgia, SE Georgia Health System and 12 minutes to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC). You are also 15 minutes to St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island.
Inside the home you walk in the door to beautiful high ceilings. A lot of the original touches are still in the home but it's been updated with modern finishes. There is one bathroom that has both a shower and clawfoot tub for your use. The claw tub is wonderful for soaking and relaxing! The bedroom has a King-sized bed.
The kitchen itself is fully stocked with everything you need for shorter or longer stays. There is also a propane grill for your use!
There is a washer and dryer in the unit for your use. The backyard is fully fenced in. There is 1 parking space for your use right beside the home. You also have options for street parking if you have additional vehicles. There is usually ample parking available on the street.
This home is new to our vacation rental program so don't miss out - it will book quickly!
Note:
Up to 2 dogs allowed less than 50lbs. No cats. The backyard is shared with the guest on the other side of the duplex so please be mindful of that.
Trailers, Boats, and other commercial vehicles will not fit on the property. You may be able to park a trailer on the street (street parking is available) but the space isn't guaranteed.
Please consider purchasing travel insurance for your trip. This may cover you for instances of medical emergencies or inclement weather. We unfortunately canât offer refunds for these types of situations so we want to ensure youâve properly covered yourself.
Pack N Plays, high chairs and strollers are available upon request for $15 each for the duration of your stay. Please notify us at least 1 day in advance if you would like to rent them so we can ensure they are delivered prior to your arrival.
After booking we do require a rental agreement and rental form to be signed in order to stay at our home. We appreciate the understanding on this as we want to protect all parties involved!

Other Things to Note:
For any stay 60 or more days, an additional cleaning fee of $175 will be added after booking. If the cleaning fee is unpaid 7 days prior to check-in, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation without a refund.Â
For stays of 30 nights or more, we will collect a $750 refundable security deposit.
Linens are provided for your stay along with a starter set of paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, shampoo, body wash and laundry pods. They will not be replenished during your stay so make sure to bring some extras if you need!
