Jekyll On My Mind, a Reality Once Again

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Sixty-three years of paradise still captivates me. In spite of "progress" which has commercialized the old village & added hotels, JI remains my favorite paradise. Fortunately, there still remains part of the beauty that separates JI from St Simon's & other beach resorts. That is why I keep coming back. I miss the old village & use the new one when absolutely necessary. Thank God the island has not all been tainted by progressive mercenaries. I will continue to partake of JI beauty as long as I am able.

Perfect vacation with the grandkids

The beach is just around the corner, an easy 2 minute walk. The apartment is spacious, we were able to seat all 6 at the kitchen table, and have a separate space for board games. The bedrooms are perfectly sized to sleep all of us, with the littlest in a pack and play. There is a fold out couch that we didn’t use this time. We love staying here, this is our 2nd time in the apartment and I can see many more in the future.

The apartment is just perfect for us to all be together in one place unlike hotel stays. We were able to cook our meals, wash and dry clothes/towels and relax with the beach just being a short walk around the building. We were given $60 credit for beach gear. We chose beach chairs and an umbrella. It made our time at the beach watching our grandkids play a very relaxing experience. We will no doubt come back and stay again in the future.

I was familiar with the building we stayed in, although the outside has been painted. Some of the fixtures showed their age and the furniture was fine, but this felt like old times for me. The apartment was nice and clean. Plenty of linens and kitchen utensils with extra surprises hidden in the closets. I would stay here again.

Wonderful time and a great location. The rental apartment was nice and clean...great for a beach get away, plenty of linens! This apartment building has been around for years. The last time I visited Jekyll was 30 years ago! Some of the fixtures show their age, but for the price it was good.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at Atlantic Breezes many times for two primary reasons: low price and location. Just steps from the beach and the bike path! Any other rental property similarly situated would cost at least twice as much. The accommodations are basic, but there are a couple of things we appreciate: washer/drier, two bathrooms. There is no dishwasher, but doing the dishes by hand was not a burden in the least. The welcome bag of paper products and dish soap from Jekyll Realty were appreciated! Complaints: found two nearly dead cockroaches on the kitchen floor on our a arrival;very basic and sparse dishware. Finish on front of frig was pitted with rust. When we visit Jekyll we're constantly out and about biking, beaching, walking, poolside, etc. We're not there for five star accommodations. There are eight apartment units at Atlantic Breeze. With location and economy like these it is a surprise they aren't booked sooner. We like the ground level units. Parking is easy and ample. We had originally booked for six days, but decided to extend our stay one additional day which was no problem. When we were told that the extra day would only cost $23 because that the seventh day put us in the "weekly rate" category I was pleasantly surprised, but wondered why whe I booked originally the agent didn't mention that an extra day would e so inexpensive. We will return (we love Jekyll!) and we will book one of the units at Atlantic Breeze!

Great Location

This was exactly as described in the listing...location was excellent with two very close places with beach access and very central to the island. Property was very clean and kitchen had all we needed. Would stay again!

Spring Break on Jekyll

We enjoyed our very first trip to Jekyll Island. The Atlantic Breeze was a great location near the beach and restaurants. The pool pass was a nice amenity.

January stay

We were not contacted concerning check in process but after calling Jekyll Realty they were very helpful. We knew there would be no linens provided but didn't know that we would be short on toilet paper and no soap. The heat would have to be coordinated with the area you were in. Location was great! We enjoyed our stay but probably not rent again due to having to bring or buy so many amenities.

Great, clean place, close to beach

This is the 2nd year we have stayed at Atlantic Breeze. We love the access to the beach, the cleanliness of the apartment and the affordability. It does not have a pool but has access to one. It is not fancy or new but has everything that you need and for a great price. We always love our stay. The staff at Jekyll Realty are extremely helpful for all our needs and added an extra night for us with no problems. We will definitely stay here again. The only thing I would change at all is instead of access to pool down the street , is see if possibility of access of pool at hotel next door. That would make this even better!!

Both AC units for the two apartments are right outside the master bedroom window. Found the first day that the sofa bed was broken and reported it. Everything was well equipped. Totally loved the location.
