If you need additional parking, the Town of Breckenridge offers paid overnight options in two convenient locations: 1) south of town at the Stephen C. West Ice Arena, and 2) north of town at the Airport Road satellite lot, which also accommodates RVs and trailers.
COLORADO TRACTION LAW:
From September through May 31, the Colorado Traction Law is in effect for all drivers traveling on I-70 between Morrison and Dotsero as well as US-285 to Breckenridge. This law mandates that vehicles must be equipped with either four-wheel or all-wheel drive and snow-rated or mud and snow tires. Alternatively, vehicles with two-wheel drive must have winter tires, chains, or other traction devices. Ensuring your vehicle is properly equipped is essential for safe winter driving in Colorado. If youâre renting a car, be sure to confirm with your rental company that your vehicle meets these requirements.
IMPORTANT WINTER ADVISORY:
Please be aware that during the winter months, roads and driveways are likely to be snow-covered or icy, making four wheel drive or all wheel drive essential for safe travel.
