Mountain Chalet Just Blocks from Gondola & Main St

Summary:
Welcome to our beautiful mountain home just 3 blocks from Main Street! The home features four bedrooms plus a private loft and can comfortably accommodate 12 guests. Situated in the Breckenridge Historic District, the home is a five minute walk from the gondola and some of the best restaurants and bars in Breckenridge. The house features multiple decks, great mountain views, and a private hot tub! This is a fantastic location to enjoy Breckenridge any time of the year!

The Space:
This 4 bedroom + loft mountain home has a great layout and comfortably accommodates family groups of 12. The floorplan is ideal for families with children. The lower level features the kitchen, dining room, and family room that flow into one another and are surrounded by a large deck that wraps around the home. The family room has comfortable furniture, a gas fireplace, and a large, mounted TV. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything needed to prepare a meal and has a large island, breakfast bar seating, and stainless steel appliances. There are two dining tables that each seat up to 8 guests. The formal dining table is off of the family room and the second dining table is off of the kitchen. There is access to an outdoor patio from the family room and kitchen. There is a gas grill and outdoor dining table on the patio and a hot tub just off of the patio. The lower level has one bedroom with a king bed and one bathroom with a large walk-in shower.

The upper floor of the home has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom has a king bed, walk-in closet, a mounted TV, air conditioning unit and an en suite bathroom with a walk-in shower and jacuzzi tub. The guest bedroom has a queen bed, mounted TV, and a small air conditioning unit. The bunk room has a twin over twin bunk bed, two additional twin beds, one trundle bed, and a small air conditioning unit. It is very rare for mountain homes to have air conditioning and the three bedroom AC units are the only air conditioning in the home. There is a full bathroom with a shower/tub next to two bedrooms. The upstairs of the home has a family room with a gas fireplace and mounted TV and a second TV room with a large sofa and flat screen TV. There is also a play room that is a great space for children to play. Finally, there is access to a loft from the upper floor that has two twin beds and incredible views of the ski resort.

The home has a laundry room on the lower level with a washer and dryer that guests can use during their stay. The driveway is large enough for 5-6 vehicles to park, depending on the size of the vehicle. Guests do not have access to the garage. Lastly, the home has a great yard and outdoor space that guests can enjoy when the weather is appropriate.

Please note that like most homes in Breckenridge, we do not have A/C.

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the entire home, the outdoor patios, and the hot tub. Guests will receive detailed check-in instructions a few days before their arrival through the booking platforms app or email. Guests do not have access to the garage.

The Neighborhood:
The Historic District in Breckenridge offers access to art, music, theater, and some of the best restaurants and bars in Breckenridge. The house is just 3 blocks to Main Street and 4 blocks to the gondola.

Getting Around:
This home has an amazing location! Guests can walk to the gondola in 5 minutes, but please attempt the walk without full ski gear first! The shops, restaurants and bars on French and Main Streets are also walking distance. The Breckenridge Free Ride Bus is also an option for guests that do not want to walk. There is a stop for the Purple and Blue Routes at the intersection of Wellington and French Streets, about 3 blocks from the home. Uber/Lyft is also available.

Other Things to Note:
The home does not have central air conditioning. There are air conditioning units in the master bedroom, bunk room and guest bedroom on the upper level only. Please provide an accurate guest count prior to booking. Rates vary throughout the week and season and by number of guests. It's important that your guest count is accurate so we can be sure the home is adequately prepared and stocked for your stay.

There are cameras at the front entrance and garage for security purposes.

Please note that the tub is serviced between guests. Sometimes the tub is just chemically treated, but sometimes it has to be drained and refilled. Because of this, please note that the tub may be cold on your arrival and may not be hot on the first night of your stay. As such, if you wish to use it, please ensure you turn it on and turn up the temperature when you arrive. Be sure to keep the cover closed at all times when the tub is not in use!

Please keep in mind that if you plan to ski, you are responsible for verifying the ski resorts' opening and closing dates.

4-wheel drive or 2-wheel drive tires with snow chains may be necessary for safe travel to this property, even if it hasn’t snowed in a few days.

The "Nest" is the perfect place for a multi-generational family ski trip

The downtown location and the views from the huge windows facing the ski slopes were only part of the magic of our trip. The home is immaculate, the beds amazing and the hosts very responsive.

Great stay in Breck!

Had a great week in Breck at this property. Was exactly as described. Close to downtown, could walk to downtown. House was very spacious with plenty of room for our two families to enjoy with kids in one area and adults in another. Would highly recoemend.

Large family holiday gathering

This home was great for a large family gathering. Conveniently located near main street for shopping and the north gondola for skiing. Plenty of space for the entire group to gather for meals and evening activities as well as spaces for small groups to break off and enjoy some private conversations. The hot tub was a great for relaxing after a day of skiing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Lovely home in a great location.

I'll keep this short, but I wanted to leave a note thanking the owners of the property for allowing my family to stay there over Christmas. We have a large family and this home exceeded our expectations! The house is spacious, updated and only a few minutes away from everything. If you're looking for a large place in the Breckenridge area, you can't do much better than this!

A place for everyone!

This darling home had the perfect set up for two families with young children and tweens. There was space for everyone. The toy room was a huge bonus, and our tweens spent every evening in the Lounge Pit. The location was convenient to the gondola and main street. Karen was accommodating and went out of her way to make sure our stay was pleasant.

This house is amazing!

I stayed here with a group of friends (4 couples each with a young child, 12 people total) and it was the perfect setup for us. Each family got their own room, and in many cases the kids got their own space too. We couldn't be happier with both how comfortable it was inside, and it's close proximity to Main Street. Karen was great to work with and very responsive/helpful to questions. Highly recommend!

You have a beautiful home that is finely decorated and with incredible vistas. I truly enjoyed the opportunity to stay there and will return again. The location was close to all local activities while still providing my family with the solitude we sought. We thank you for being available to answer our silly questions. A plus vacation. Great for a large family

Karen's home was perfect for our extended family, which included two young children. She had everything we would need for our kiddos. She was also very responsive to the questions we had and resolved the minor issues we experienced right away! The home is located in the perfect location to easily access town and all that Breckenridge has to offer - but still feels tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. We will definitely be back!

Girls Weekend in Breckenridge

Stunning remodeled home that is within walking distance to Main Street in Breckenridge. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. Such a great gathering place around the large island. All of the bathrooms are remodeled and the 2 living spaces are perfect for gathering by the fireplaces. We didn't use the decks, but would be amazing during the summer days/evenings. The beds are so comfy, bedding is great and has ample space for multiple guests. Plenty of parking too. We will absolutely be back for next year's girls weekend. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.

Had Everything you Need

We went for a ski trip, which we do annually, and this house had everything you need to ski at Breckenridge. The walk to the gondola is doable, you might break a sweat. The house is so close to Main Street. The property managers are super quick to respond to any messages you have so that was great. The mattresses are very firm but you kind of get used to that after a day or two. The hot tub was awesome, although when we were there, we had no way of filling it up after we were done using it since the hose was frozen over. The only note I have is that the Wi-Fi is definitely not the quickest so getting a little bit of work done might be frustrating. Other than that, the kitchen is awesome, and well stocked! There are so many (to us) sitting areas/media rooms to hang out! Would definitely rent this house again.

Awesome Family Experience and Great Hosts

Karen and her husband Eric were great hosts during our family stay in Breckenridge. They were extremely responsive to all of our questions and they supplied us with a ton of great information about what to do while we were in Breckenridge. The layout of the house was ideal for our family (4 adults, 6 children and 1 baby) and everyone had plenty of space for themselves. The home was recently fully renovated so all of the beds and furnishings were brand new and very functional for all of our needs. The location of the home is also ideal as it is a block away from Main Street with all of the shops and restaurants yet it feels private and tucked away given the backyard and immediate surroundings. I would highly recommend this home and its owners to anyone who is looking to spend some fun filled time in Breckenridge. There was so much to do and see that we ran out of time at the end and we were there for a full week. Everyone had a blast and I definitely rent this home again as it was the prefect fit for everything we were looking for while in Breckenridge. Thanks again for all of your help, Kraen and Eric.

If I had paid a lot less, I probably would've rolled with the shortcomings. But, we paid such a premium price (holiday week,) so we were incredibly disappointed - such poor value.Pros: good location (close to gondola, Main St. & Groceriea), accurate pictures, plenty of space for a family of 9, comfortable beds.Cons: 1) while we expected the property to be dated...the kitchen especially, it was not well maintained. The place only had 3 bathrooms (challenging for the number of beds), but one of the 3 showers wasn't usable - it would't drain. When we notified the property manager, they told us to check for Drano...so it was a known issue. But, there was no Drano. We chose to just live with it, but it was very disappointing - both that it was a known unresolved maintenance issue & the property managers lack of urgency/response/concessions. 2) The kitchen amenities were greatly lacking - there weren't enough mugs, no drinking glasses other than wine glasses, the pots & pans were unsafe (heavily scratched nonstick coating), the dishes were old & highly scratched, with not enough of each except plastic kids plates & cups - we were constantly doing dishes. 3) The deck had a sign indicating it was in disrepair & unusable - why not just fix it? 4) we knew we couldn't park in the garage, but the guide said it was available/required for ski storage & trash bins. However, it was locked & we had no place to put 5 days of trash...even after alerting the property manager. Unacceptable.

So glad we stayed here!

Two families with 6 kids stayed here for a spring break ski trip. The home was clean, spacious, and so convenient. There were plenty of clean towels, flatware, dishes, glassware, serving utensils and cookware. The hot tub was clean and easy to use. Access with a touch pad was very convenient for all members of our party. Our bed was quite comfortable. We made use of the board games, cards, PS3 (or 4). Mud room was great so we could take off wet clothing and walk around in our socks. The location is so convenient. We had little kids and there was so much snow (yay!) we drove to the gondola parking lot. But other members of our party walked it and think it was about 7 minutes door to door. You can easily walk to Main Street for dinner or shopping. We ordered in most of the time because our party was so big. We all just agreed it was a very well laid out homes for large or multiple families. The owners were very responsive to my messages and gave us great tips to make our trip even more enjoyable. We really do hope to stay here again. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us.

Breckenridge - Gorgeous Christmas at Downtown Home / Chalet

Christmas 2019 - -Our family of 9 stayed at the Tscharners’ beautiful home, downtown Breckenridge. The location was perfect and the home was ideal! These owners have appointed every room perfectly and beautifully. The attention to detail, organization and cleanliness were incredible. The kitchen has everything you will need, including upgraded appliances. The beds and bedding were top notch, new and comfortable - - and the decor is a wonderful blend of modern and updated touches with a warm mountain feel. The home is very spacious and there are several living spaces - - allowing people to relax in different ways. There was even a beautiful Christmas tree, decorated and ready for us to enjoy! We really enjoyed being able to walk to the gondola and into town regularly. You can drive (4/10 of a mile) to the gondola, and sometimes we did, but walking is always a great option for those who want to come off the mountain sooner than others. Our boys even walked home from Peak 9 one day, stopping in town for a snack and Starbucks. We used the hot tub every evening, and it was very roomy and clean / well cared for. We would most definitely recommend this home to others and appreciate all the owners do to maintain it so well. - The Duffys

Perfect get away home for couples or families

Absolutely loved this mountain home. We rented it with two other couples for a long weekend this Fall and fell in love with everything about it. We wished we had rented for the week. The location is perfect as it is easy walking distance to town. The big grocery store is literally a few blocks away and although walking distance to Main Street being at the start of town you don't have to navigate driving through town (on a busy day this can take awhile) to get to the house. We parked our car and never moved it the rest of the stay. The layout of the home provides comfortable gathering areas (kitchen, two dinning areas, outside seating and huge great room on first floor with comfy sectional couch, fire place and state of the art media) plus an additional 'family room' on second floor with stunning mountain views. There is even ANOTHER movie room so if families were staying it would make a great kids TV spot allowing for separate adult and kid space. We did not use the bunk room but again ideal for families looking to get away with plenty of space for everyone. It is obvious the home has been recently renovated with the owners thinking things through as there is a mud room, extra shelving in down stairs bathroom for 'stuff', extra hooks for towels on shared second floor bath, humidifiers in bedrooms and the kitchen if fully stocked with glassware, pots, pans etc. to accommodate large groups. And being picky on beds and bedding found they were new and could not have been more comfortable. Hot tub was clean and a salt water tub which was awesome. Conveniently located to the house. Can't wait to rent this house again for ski season as being able to walk every where with the convenience to mountain and town, living space in the house and the hot tub = perfect A+ rental!

Family vacation. Seven people total.

The house was large, roomy and comfortable. The kitchen was large and well appointed. There was no trouble getting wi-fi reception and the check in process was easy. The location was excellent for walking to store, shops, restaurants and the gondola. There was a plumbing issue in the downstairs bathroom that was addressed in a timely fashion but will require maintenance. The outdoor space left a little to be desired. The yard and decking was in need of upkeep. (some loose boards, rotted wood and overgrown growth) Overall we would stay there again but would make sure the plumbing issue was fixed and the deck and yard were in better condition. The property managers were responsive so I believe these issues will be addressed.
