The Space:
Sandy Strait Shack by Tiny Away is a nature-inspired tiny house in Booral, only 20 minutes from Hervey Bay. Surrounded by nature, with kangaroos and birds nearby, it’s a peaceful spot among the many holiday homes in the region.

What’s more, we’re close to attractions like Reef World Aquarium, Urangan Pier, and Lake McKenzie—plus great dining at Enzo’s on the Beach and entertainment at Hervey Bay RSL. It’s perfect for a relaxing getaway.

A cozy 139-square-foot tiny home with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities.These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers).

SAFETY NOTICE: If you have children, be mindful of the dam located at the back of the property

Guest Access:
Guests can access the tiny home and surrounding areas. They can wander around the property as there is a communal fire pit at the back and a big beautiful dam that has turtles and looks like a lake.

The Neighborhood:
Sandy Strait Shack by Tiny Away is in Booral, just 20 minutes from Hervey Bay. It’s a great spot near Fraser Island and the famous Urangan Pier — perfect for beach days, nature walks, and fun on the water.

While you’re here, check out Reef World Aquarium in Urangan, a local favourite since 1979. Don’t miss the Urangan Pier, nearly a kilometre long! Lake McKenzie is also a must-see, with its white sand and clear rainwater.

Getting Around:
By Car:

- 2 minutes to the airport
- 12 minutes to the ferry terminal for Fraser Island
- 10 minutes to the nearest beach town with all amenities

By Public Transport:

- Airport is just a 2-minute ride away

Other Things to Note:
- Family-friendly
- Wifi is not available
- BBQ Grill is not available
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Smoking is allowed in certain areas on the property
- Mobile reception has good signals for all telco companies
- Please expect limited connectivity as the tiny house is set in a rural locality
- Make sure to turn off the lights, AC, electronics, close windows and doors when leaving
- We have (2) playful sausage dogs and our (3) children. We warmly invite you to share this space
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
- Pets are allowed by 24 hrs prior notice, and must be on leash at all times. The full policy will be sent before arrival.

Important note:

- Outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present in the surrounding areas
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain our cassette toilet and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
