Getting Around:

Bodega Bay is about 90 minutes from San Francisco — a beautiful drive up 101 and out Highway 1 through farmland and coastal ranches. Internet service can be intermittent in this coastal area, so we recommend not bringing time-sensitive work. The 55-step descent to the cottage entrance requires moderate mobility. While there's no air conditioning, the cottage stays naturally cool thanks to coastal breezes and fog. The kitchenette lacks a stovetop, but the microwave and local restaurants provide plenty of dining options. Cell service can be limited — embrace the chance to unplug. The cottage sits on pilings over the water, so you may notice slight movement during storms. The primary renter must be 21 or older. No beach access is available directly from the property, but beautiful state beaches are just a few miles north or south on Highway 1.
