This upper unit, accessible only by ascending a full flight of stairs, will surely add a touch of exercise to your stay, making every arrival a mini adventure.

The lodge's prime location puts you within a stone's throw of restaurants, the Village Theater, coffee shops, and boutique shops. You're also just a few steps away from a convenience store for any last-minute necessities and the sparkling Big Bear Lake itself, setting the stage for countless water-related fun.

When it comes to rest, the suite offers a bedroom adorned with a comfortable queen bed, with the only bathroom conveniently located within. Additionally, the living room houses a day bed with a twin trundle, offering extra sleeping space.

While the unit doesn't come with central air conditioning, the fresh mountain air serves as nature's perfect cooling system.

On-site parking at the property accommodates one vehicle.

According to city ordinance:
- Street parking directly in front of the lodge is permitted.
- However, during snowy conditions, you cannot park on the street.
- It's imperative to avoid leaving vehicles parked, stopped, abandoned, or unattended on any city street.
- There is a large Free Parking area located off of Bartlett, between Beaver Lane & Village Drive if you need additional parking.

** Bear Suites Village Inn Rules **

Welcome to the rules for Bear Suites Village Inn - Brown Bear Suite. Our aim is to maintain a harmonious environment that aligns with local Code Compliance and respects the comfort of all guests. As part of this effort, we've established some friendly but firm and inflexible house guidelines.

1. Maximum Occupancy: 4 guests (4 adults max).

2. Parking: Space for 1 vehicle. Exceeding the limit may result in fines of up to $1,000.

3. Pets: Pets Allowed (Max: 2 pets).
- Pets require pre-approval: Post-approval, a $20 fee per pet applies (charged post-booking).
- Unapproved Pets: incur a minimum of a $1,000 fine.
- Pet Guidelines:
** Kennel pets when unattended.
** Keep off furniture/beds.
** Clean up after them.
** Charges apply for pet damages.
*** Coyote Warning: *** Coyotes are extremely prevalent in Big Bear, even in the most densely populated areas. If you see one, you can bet they're part of an unseen pack. These animals are bold and territorial. They pose a significant threat to pets. For their safety, never leave your pets unattended, even in fenced areas, especially after dark. Coyotes are known for their ability to overcome barriers, including high fences. And they're even known for attacking pets that are on a leash. We cannot overstate the need for heightened vigilance concerning your pets' safety.

4. Check-In: ID verification is required for check-in.

5. Noise: Quiet hours from 9 pm to 8 am. You are not allowed to be outside, in a hot tub, play music or create any noise from inside of the residence that could be heard outside of the home. If these rules are violated, Code Enforcement could impose fines of up to $1,000 or eviction. (We have no control over Code Enforcement's decisions.)

6. Air Conditioning: No central AC.

7. Ants: Sometimes our ants can be a bit over-friendly. To keep these small visitors at bay, we suggest promptly cleaning up right after each meal and don't leave food out. (We do use ant bait & ant traps
 and the ants tend to look at those as snacks.)

8. Trash: You are mandated by ordinance to dispose of your trash at the designated trash site. If you require assistance, we can arrange a pick-up service for a nominal fee.

9. Video Surveillance & Noise Monitors: We employ external video surveillance and noise monitors at most of our properties. (We do not have video or audio monitoring inside of the residences.)

10. No Smoking/Vaping: We have a very strict No Smoking and/ or No Vaping policy on the grounds of all of our properties.
* If any guest smokes or vapes on the premises during their stay, a minimum cleaning fee of $750 will be charged automatically to the Credit Card on file to cover the cost of carpets cleaning, dry cleaning of all bedspreads, curtains, etc. And the security deposit will be forfeited.

11. Age: Minimum booking age is 18.

12. Parties: No parties allowed; parties will result in immediate eviction and forfeiture of the security deposit. Additional cleaning fees may apply.

13. Communication: For questions or concerns, we're available via phone or email.

* Note: Code Enforcement enforces all of the ordinances in Big Bear Lake. We have no control over the decisions they make, up to and including fines and evictions.

* Note: Any eviction will result in the loss of your security deposit and you will not be entitled to a refund.

This property is located in “The Village” which has everything you could possibly need, shopping, dining, and entertainment. The property itself was clean and suitable for myself and my friend. I was very happy that there were no heavy fragrances, like plug-ins. Also happy that their cleaning people use supplies that don’t linger. I also think we had one of the best units because it has two big windows that overlook the main street. The only thing about that was the commotion outside Saturday evening, but that is to be expected. It quieted down after 10 PM. I would definitely stay here again, thank you for the wonderful accommodations. Diane

Just a getaway stay

This place and its location was more than amazing. Super dog friendly and I will be coming back here! Rental was cooled down before we got in, don’t let the no AC unit scare you. There’s a portable AC that works well! Check in was easy and convenient!

Best place to stay in the village!

Right by the welcome sign with a lake view and one parking spot. Charging station for EV was a short walk away. Was able to walk everywhere we wanted to eat in the village. Place was large yet cozy for our two dogs. Loved the framed puzzle pieces as decor, fireplace, and daybed. Would definitely come back!

Brown Bear

The Brown Bear unit was in a perfect location overlooking the main street! Could walk anywhere since you're right at the beginning of the downtown. Felt like a mini apartment. The upper unit didn't have a hot tub, my understanding is that the lower units do...and the only downside to the unit was that the bed was extremely squeaky. Other than that, great spot for the price!

Pretty good

My only issue was it was just me so I chose to sleep on the twin bed in the main room
I couldn’t get one of the blinds to shut so I had Christmas lights on me all night. Other than that great place for dog and being in the village.

This Suite is the perfect choice for anyone looking for a cozy and welcoming home away from home. The interior of the Suite was warm and comfortable with all the necessary amenities. My family and I really enjoyed our stay. I would highly recommend due to the location.

I am sorry to say that we were very disappointed.To begin, there is only stairs and quite a few of them. We stayed in room 1.There was a strong smell in our room that wasn't very pleasant. We had to use an essence. The room was very hot.The portable cooling unit in our bedroom was very small and not very helpful. We couldn't open the window because there was no screen. We were willing to deal with all that. Then came the time to sleep. There was 4 of us so 2 people were gonna sleep in the living room. The problem was the lights wouldn't turn off. I made contact with the hotel and they basically said there was nothing they could do until next day. The only "solution" they gave me was to turn off the breaker for the living room. Told them that wasn't an option because it also turned off the fridge, the AC and all the outlets. Told them they could moved us to another room or just give us a refund and we would go to another hotel. No problem. They still had the bad sense to ask, "because the lights don't work?" I responded with "I don't know how you sleep but we sleep with the lights off." We grabbed our stuff and we went to another hotel. We did get a refund but the experience was not very good. We will definitely not be staying or recommending this place.

This spot is in the perfect location in the village. It was a great open space with almost everything you need. Check in was easy and the staff messaged us to make sure we got in ok. The only negative might be the a bit of noise from the nearby bars but Big Bear shut down pretty early and it wasn’t loud enough to keep us awake. I would definitely stay here again.
