It was “Fine”

My honest review:Upon arrival kitchen was sparkling clean Floors were swept well and mopped.Smelled a bit stuffy so I went to open windows and the screens were too old and definitely would let bugs in.Slider was the only option, glad I brought a small fan.Onto the bedrooms
 I was thankful the unit provided sheets and blankets.Have to say though 
I was surprised by the old faded multicolored bed spread.Unfortunately when I went to remove it, a strong body odor smell was emanating from it — later to find out ALL the pillows had that same stinky odor !Hope they replace them along with the master bedroom rug (felt pasty dirty).Yes I talked to Vacasa and informed them they said they’ll get back to me and never did.Glad I brought my own blanket and pillow.I did wash the pillow cases so I could sleep without the smell!!Lastly, the WiFi went out and couldn’t find the router to restart.Maintenance came in Wed and we found it — restarted and was fixed!I can say I won’t be back— didn’t like the decor or location.But hey — nice master shower tile and kitchen cleanliness was a huge plus!!I actually left before Saturday bc the weather was yucky I would have stayed if the decor and location were better.

Good area but needs some upgrades

We rented for a week. The property has good space and layout. The pools and other shared facilities are nice. The unit was tidy. Nice sized bedrooms. Nice artwork. The unit needs a few small investments to meet expectations. First, The A/C unit couldn’t cool down the unit. Maybe it just needs some maintenance work but when set at 72, only cooled to 77. Second, the screen door to porch falls off the rails and doesn’t fit well. Result, lots of bugs in the u it in the evening. Third, porch lighting is dismal. Literally. Can’t see your food or people if you eat out there. Four, the unit has a musty, almost moldy smell. That needs to be investigated and solved. Had some allergic moments because of that. Five, the kitchen is not well stocked with the essentials for cooking..

Apartment was fine but needs some TLC

We knew we had booked one of the cheaper apartments at Sea Colony so were expecting it to be functional rather than beautiful. Many of the appliances were old and could do with upgrading - the dishwasher didn't turn itself off when the cycle was finished, the washer-drier was noisy and in the living area rather than in a cupboard and the air conditioning broke on our last night. As the apartment is on the ground floor and the windows only opened at the bottom we weren't able to have any natural ventilation at night either. Venetian and vertical blinds aren't optimal with a small child and had we stayed in the summer we would have needed a blackout blind to keep the light out of our daughter's room. We were also disappointed that the piano shown in the photographs of the unit wasn't there. The kitchen is old and had an infestation of ants during our stay. Given concerns about COVID we did not report this or the broken bathroom lights at the time as we didn't want people coming into the apartment. A final comment on Sea Colony rather than the unit - it was disappointing not to have recycling facilities close to the unit - they should be situated with all trash facilities if Sea Colony really want to ensure they are used. Overall our stay was OK - we were lucky with weather and used the unit as a base rather than spending a lot of time there.

Will not rent here again

Unit was dirty and gross, had to deep clean when we arrived. AC didn’t work, and could not get through to ResortQuest. Tried calling multiple times on hold for over and hour each time. Finally got through Thursday morning and were told HVAC co would be out to repair AC in afternoon and did not need to be present, they came at 7PM! No one was here to meet them, no AC on yet the warmest night all week. Requesting partial refund, were told they would comply but have not heard from ResortQuest since our initial call. All but a couple of the outdoor pools were closed and shorter hours for pool and hot tub use along with limited number of persons put a damper on things, and we were not informed about the lack of availability for amenities which we feel should have been disclosed by ResortQuest. Unit has a bad odor and seems carpets need steam cleaned.

Beautiful unit, right on a pond with a spectacular view to sit and drink you coffee on the porch. Only thing we had issue with was the one step you have to hit before the front door. If they could paint a yellow line or something to differentiate from the rest of the porch, that would be great. We had 2 people trip on it because it blends in with the rest of the porch. Would recommend to anyone.
