We loved everything about our stay. The house was beautiful and stocked with all you would need. The kids spent lots of time in the pool and a quiet beach was only 2 miles down the road. In the area, we kayaked, paddle boarded, bowled and found a couple of great restaurants. But the cherry on top was the sunset. Every evening we gathered in the great room and watched the sun go down. The kids said it was the best Michigan vacation we've every had.
For the second summer in a row, our family had a great week at the Blue Water Retreat. The furnishings were impeccable, the pool was pleasant and the outside dining area was convenient and spacious, with a nice view. The kitchen was well appointed for cooking, and the basement with a ping pong table was enjoyed by our grandsons.
Excellent property for my family of 11. The house was more than adequate, the pool great, and the location on Lake Michigan was as superb and beautiful!
This house is fantastic, it was our second visit. The property manager, Chris, was very helpful and easy to communicate with. We immediately noticed the house was much cleaner than the previous visit. Chris attributed this to hiring a new cleanup crew. There is a public beach very close to the house and we spent a few mornings-afternoons there. The pool was in great shape and got plenty of use as well. We look forward to returning.
We spent a wonderful week with our kids and grandkids at Blue Water Retreat. The pool was just fabulous and access to nearby local beaches was a breeze. Everything we needed for the pool and beach was supplied: beach towels, beach chairs, pool toys. Chris our property manager responded immediately when we had any questions. And watching the sunset each evening was icing on the cake. What a view!!
House is very nice. Very nicely furnished. We did a lot of cooking and the kitchen has everything you need.
Large pool is excellent!
Itâs too bad you can no longer get down to the beach but there is a nice beach two miles away
Our family had a wonderful week at the house in July. The furnishings, spaciousness and ability to dine outside were just great. Our grand kids loved the pool and ping pong table. And proximity to a nearby quiet beach was a plus. We're coming back next year!
With a group of 14 people, not everyone got a âbedroom,â but all of us got to swim in the pool, look at the lake, and take in some spectacular sunsets. Chris got us checked in promptly and responded quickly when the toaster broke down. When we stayed in, the place had all we needed. When we wanted to go out, great towns were within 30 or minutes. We were all happy with our stay.
Beautiful home in a great location. Everything you could want/need was in this terrific home. Chris, the property manager, was wonderful and easy to get a hold of if there was a question. Fabulous pool, deck, grill area with a wonderful yard and view of Lake Michigan. Lots of indoor space for activities, dining, relaxing. We've stayed in many rental homes and this is by far our favorite all around! Thank you for the great get-away weekend!!!
We had my sisters bachelorette weekend there with 10 girls. We had plenty of space and large areas to hang out, play games, and just enjoy some equality time together. The home was well maintained and the time spent was seamless. We had quick and easy communication with Chris as he was very easy to reach and responded timely. Would definitely recommend to any larger group of people traveling together, looking for a house with all the things and a beautiful view too!
We loved the property! Spacious, clean, and comfortable with lavish bedding and interiors. The game room was a bonus for lively ping pong matches and watching the game on the large screen TV with space for the whole group (or most of it) to cheer on Michigan (sorry Phil). The sunsets over Lake Michigan were spectacular! The pool was a lovely 82 degrees and though it was colder outside we had a comfortable sunset swim. With tons of local restaurants (Silver Brewing Company and The Market), wineries (Lazy Ballerina), Silver Beach, sightseeing, and shopping, we found something for everyone in our group to enjoy. Thanks, Chris, for all of your recommendations and for helping make our stay a satisfying success.
I will start with the excellent property manager, Chris. He was very concise with explaining the "dos and don'ts" of the property, how to care for the pool and fireplaces. He responded very quickly to any questions/concerns. The house is so beautiful with such attention to detail and high end everything...furniture, beds/mattresses, artwork, decor, fully stocked kitchen, stone fireplaces, large and comfy enclosed screened in porch with stone gas/wood fireplace where we spent a lot of time. The heated pool and patio were very relaxing with stunning views of the lake and breathtaking sunsets. It is exactly as pictured and worth every penny...sleeps a lot of people comfortably and the 4 full baths were a bonus for all of our family that stayed to get ready for our niece's wedding. Just perfect! Will try to plan our next reunion here!
We had an amazing weekend celebrating my sisters Bachelorette! Chris, the property manager, was great to communicate with and helped us check into the house with ease. We absolutely loved the house and will be booking it again! Super spacious, the pool was amazing, we loved the screened in porch, and loved hanging out by the outdoor fire pit to make s'mores and watch the stars. Very close to downtown Benton Harbor and the Dollar General was less than 5 minutes away for last minutes items.
This was our second stay at the Benton Harbor house and we had a fabulous time! Mornings and evenings in the pool, afternoons at the beach nearby, movie nights in the screened porch and sunsets at the fire pit looking over Lake Michigan. The renovated kitchen and bathrooms made the stay even nicer. Can't recommend the house more. We'll be back!
We met for a family reunion that included 10 adults and seven children, including two infants, and five children under six years. I was a little unsure as to how the sleeping arrangements might work for the adults. However, everyone was pleased with their arrangement and put two twins together to create a king for one couple. The kitchen was stocked beyond belief and we had the local Meijer supermarket deliver food the day of our arrival which made a huge shopping spree easier. We had extended family who stayed in a house up the road over for dinner, a couple of nights, and despite the number of people , it worked out incredibly well. Chris, the manager was highly responsible and responsive. The pump on the pool did fail our last day there, but he had the repair man out and the pump changed within the day. The views were spectacular, the memories treasured, the house beautifully decorated and Saint Joseph was a perfect place for adults and children to make special memories together. Would highly recommend this house and Chris our manager for your next seamless vacation.
Beautiful property with great view right on Lake Michigan. Sunsets were truly a wonder to behold. We had 13 folks from age 4 to 53, and six 18 to 21 year olds. Property comfortably fit us all. Evenings were great, we could retire to beautiful screened in porch and still enjoy the sunsets and evenings. Heated pool was a hit as it provided hours of enjoyment throughout the day. Kitchen was stocked where we could buy plenty of food and make delicious home cooked meals for 13. Would definitely rent again. Fun Warren Dunes State Park and beautiful South Haven within 30 minute drive of property.
We had a fantastic time at this gorgeous home! My family rented the home for my Mom's 70th birthday weekend. We had two families with young children and our parents. Property was quiet, well kept and very up to date/modern while maintaining a rustic feel. The pool was perfect and pool cover great for safety and cleanliness! The manager Chris was extremely attentive and helpful!
The property is a dream to stay in. Chris was flexible in allowing us to check in early as my toddler has a pretty firm nap schedule. The house is fully stocked with everything a family could need. We enjoyed the 3 season room so much and were able to use the fireplace every night and enjoy the sunsets over the lake. I canât express enough how grateful I am to have had that time with my family, and how comfortable and seamless the entire experience was because of Chrisâs help and guidance along the way. Thank you, Chris, for giving my family and I the space we needed to really restore over the long weekend at this very special home.
This Michigan home was a great place for my family of 13, during our stay in June of 2022. Christopher went out of his way to make our stay comfortable and most enjoyable. The kitchen had recently been remodeled, we enjoyed eating in most nights. The view of the lake Michigan was beautiful, while spending days in the pool and evenings playing ping pong, which was a family favorite. I would highly recommend this property. You will not be disappointed!!
Great week with family of 10. Loved the pool, short car ride to beach; house had everything we needed. Plenty of separate spaces to branch out with screened porch, living room, TV room and basement. Yard with fire pit area was great in the evenings. Highly recommend.
Would give the house 4.5 stars. I think we paid a premium price for a nice home.
6 adults, 4 children ages 7 months to almost 5.
Bedrooms and baths accommodated everyone comfortably.
Master with king (2 adults) and bath - added a portable crib.
Bedroom with 2 twins ( 2 kids) shared hall bath with bedroom with queen (2 adults).
Portable crib (1 kids) in a main floor room. Bathroom also on main floor.
Basement with 2 bunk beds - twin top, full bottom with bathroom next door. 2 of the adults stayed there.
Took 3 baby monitors.
The pool was very kid friendly. Automatic pool cover. Lots of shallow areas for the children to play as long as we were in the pool to supervise. More shallow area than most pools.
Lots of good pool toys and beach towels.
Screened in porch was very nice on rainy days and evenings.
We had to do some kid proofing of the house. There were lots of knick knacks on the living room and dining room tables that needed to be moved and glass living room table that wasn't child friendly though worked with supervision.
The view of the lake was beautiful. However the kids were tempted to walk to the edge of the bluff so couldn't be outside without supervision.
We took our own portable cribs, high chairs and sippy cups though we found 1 portable crib in a closet. Don't know if it works since we didn't use it.
Second refrigerator/freezer in the garage was used for extra food though kitchen has nice sized refrigerator/freezer. Kitchen had everything we needed.
Nice quiet location.
Recommend Rocky Gap as best close beach.
