Phoenix Nest - Downtown Apartment in Belfast
Discover comfort and convenience at the Phoenix Nest, second floor one bed/one bath apartment in the heart of downtown Belfast. Ideal for a couple or solo traveler, itâs a cozy and quiet space to rest after a day of exploring. Just steps from top restaurants, shops, and historic sights, you can explore the city by foot, or take your car to enjoy all the Midcoast has to offer. This is the first time this space has been offered as a rental so don`t miss your chance to be one of the first to book!
The Phoenix Nest is located in the main hub of downtown Belfast. Named after the buildings themselves, `Phoenix Row` is the name of the entire block of brick buildings. Although the apartment does not have dedicated parking, there is plenty of free, public parking behind Rollie`s and is just a couple minute walk. Additionally, there is street parking right out front, but mind the street signs!
Arriving at the building, you access the second floor apartment via a set of 16 stairs. The door is fitted with a smart lock so you can enter at your convenience. Once inside you will be greeted by a small entry wall hall that leads to the kitchen/dining space. Off of the kitchen you will find the bathroom complete with a stand up shower (there is no bathtub). The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to make a meal or just store some snacks!
Beyond the kitchen space you will find the living room with plenty of seating as well as a TV and a Roku (please note there is no cable). Off of the living room is the bedroom with a queen sized bed, dresser, closet and great view of High St!
For a little history of the name: Phoenix Row, with its six storefronts, was a three-story brick building built in 1824. In one of the third stories was a large social hall, Phoenix Hall. The hall was used for social and political gatherings and was headquarters and armory of the Belfast City Greys, the local militia unit prior to the Civil War. The buildings burned on June 12, 1887, but were quickly rebuilt.
We also have a larger space that can be rented and is right next door to the Phoenix Nest: airbnb.com/h/ballroombythebay
Guests have access to the entire apartment. There is a stairwell to the apartment door and two other apartment doors at the top of the stairs - guests only have access to apartment number 1.
I live close by and can come assist if help is needed, but you typically won`t see me unless you need me!
There are no exterior trash bins so please let us know when the trash is full. If you place it outside the door we will come pick it up!
There is no dedicated parking for the space, but you can typically park in the street overnight and for 2 hour increments - just mind the signs. Longer term parking is behind Traci`s/Rollie`s in the public parking area.
The water can take a minute or two to get hot, but works great!
The AC is located in the kitchen area, but can cool the entire space if all the doors are left open. There is no dedicated AC in the bedroom.
There is no washer or dryer in the space, but we can help you with laundry if need be. There is also a laundromat about a 2 minute walk from the apartment.
