Cottage de vacances céleste sur Silver Lake

Perché sur le bord du lac argenté, notre chalet est situé sur un grand terrain surplombant le lac. Le chalet appartient à la famille depuis prÚs de 60 ans et a attiré de nombreux visiteurs de tous les coins du monde.
Le jardin extĂ©rieur et le lac: Un cadre idĂ©al en toutes saisons. Baignade, kayak et pĂȘche en Ă©tĂ©, vous trouverez le cadre paradisiaque sur notre lac paisible. Ou parcourez les nombreux sentiers de la rĂ©gion. En hiver, faire du ski de fond, du patin Ă  glace et de la raquette, en passant devant les maisons de pĂȘcheurs sur glace qui s'installent au bord du lac, c'est un rĂȘve. Vous trouverez deux kayaks, des gilets de sauvetage et beaucoup d’espace pour se prĂ©lasser au bord du lac ou lire dans le jardin.
Prenez votre petit déjeuner, déjeuner ou dßner sur la terrasse du jardin. Notre grand barbecue Weber permet de préparer des repas pour toute la famille, tout en admirant le coucher de soleil sur Silver Lake. Les soirées autour du foyer sont un moyen idéal pour terminer la journée.
Passons Ă  l'intĂ©rieur: Le chalet a trois niveaux avec 5 chambres Ă  coucher, une salle de bain Ă  chaque niveau. Au rez-de-chaussĂ©e, vous trouverez une cuisine bien Ă©quipĂ©e, une chambre principale avec une salle de bain complĂšte, ainsi qu’une salle de bronzage de 40 pieds offrant une vue sur le lac Silver. La grande salle avec une grande cheminĂ©e en pierre et un divan sectionnel confortable est parfaite pour se blottir en famille ou entre amis. jouer des jeux de sociĂ©tĂ©; s'attarder aprĂšs un dĂ©licieux repas ou regarder la tĂ©lĂ©vision.
L'étage supérieur comprend trois chambres (deux reines et une chambre à deux lits), une salle de bain avec une baignoire sur pattes pour se détendre et un salon pour écrire ou lire. Toutes les chambres du niveau supérieur donnent sur le lac.
Le niveau infĂ©rieur est lumineux et spacieux avec un mur de fenĂȘtres qui s'ouvre sur un patio donnant sur le lac. Un salon / salle Ă  manger ouvert avec une tĂ©lĂ©vision et une cuisine amĂ©ricaine, une chambre avec un lit queen-size, une salle de bain complĂšte et un sauna constituent un ajout formidable Ă  l'espace principal.

Diane is a wonderful host and her home is immaculate and well appointed. Could not have asked for a better week and visit in Barnard for our infant son’s first Christmas. Grandparents and family joined us and everyone was extremely comfortable and able to spread out with their own space to relax. We loved cooking in the very well appointed kitchen and the gas fireplace was well used throughout the week! Can’t wait for the next visit to Silver Lake!

Another great stay at Siver Lake

This was our 4th stay at Silver Lake. Each time has exceeded our expectations. We especially enjoy the dock and swimming, kayaking and paddleboarding. Good hikes in the area along with activities for young children. Got the grandkids to fish this year and they loved! The house is perfect for a a large family. Beds are comfortable, clean and well equipped kitchen.Hope yo be back next year!

Winter Getaway at Silver Lake

What an absolutely spectacular place to stay. The home is warm and very inviting. The view of the (snow covered) lake is beautiful. The layout is perfect especially for those that are seeking a little peace and tranquility. If you like to cook/entertain then you will be happy in this kitchen! Nothing is better than a beautiful and well stocked kitchen with great cookware! Everything was just perfect and surpassed my expectations. It was simply the best. I hope to be back in the future.

Back for a visit

We had the good fortune of staying at this property in 2021. We always wanted to return and finally our calendars allowed for a brief albeit lovely visit this January. We had the whole house this time which was lovely and much quieter (last time there was a loud teen in the basement apartment...just weekends). The house still has spectacular views and a cozy feel. We like being in Barnard. Not far from Woodstock or some of our Ikon ski mountains. Our host is terrific. Very quick to respond! We hope to return again!

Beautiful gem on Barnard's Silver Lake

Diane's home is just stunning. It is even more expansive than the photos capture, while still being warm, welcoming, and cozy. It has everything you would need on a relaxing getaway on Silver Lake, with personal touches, and feels private despite being just a short walk to the Barnard General Store (which has groceries and prepared food, should you decide not to stray far from this beautiful home). My family stayed here while they were in town for my wedding and my parents were so happy with the space. My dad made use of the dock, going for paddles early in the morning on quiet Silver Lake and we enjoyed sitting out on the patio together the morning of our wedding. Barnard itself is such a gem of a town with so much to explore in the surrounding area but even if you never left this property, you would have the best time away! Highly recommend this space for families or that group of friends that feel like a vacation in themselves. It is hard to think of leaving the space, but if you do, be sure to go to nearby Fable Farm for their tasting room of natural wines and ciders, Kiss the Cow Farmstand, Abracadabra for coffee and donuts, Cloudland Farm for dinner. And of course, the BGS for pancakes or sandwiches. Thank you Diane for accommodating my family and making our wedding weekend all the more special.

Wonderful vacation spot

The house, location and lake are all perfect for a family vacation. The house is beautiful yet very comfortable, and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. It was great to be able to walk to the general store and the state park. The lake is one of the best for swimming, and we really enjoyed the available kayaks. Communication with the owner was excellent. Everything was wonderful, a treat to be able to stay here.

Wonderful home in a beautiful spot!

What a wonderful place to spend snowy winter days! We found the peace and beauty we were seeking, both inside, in this lovely home, and while snowshoeing on the frozen lake right outside our door. Best gas fireplace ever and the sectional couch is super comfy! Loved all the windows and the open floor plan. We had such a restorative time and we thank you, Diane. We enjoyed connecting with you!

Beautiful relaxing lake home

My family and I wanted a winter vacation and we surely got it. The home was beautiful and the lake was frozen. There were sleds we were able to use and the back yard was perfect for sledding down. The house was within close distance to multiple ski resorts. We were able to visit three different ones on three different days. The view from the back looking towards the lake was breath taking.

Quintessential Christmas

If you are so fortunate to be able to stay at this property, you will feel as we did, that you have won the vacation Lottery. The property is beyond clean, comfortable(all the beds too) and the care and consciousness that went into linens was not lost on us. We were able to spread out and enjoy the views, yet come together to make dinner in the well appointed Kitchen. Diane was so kind in reaching out during the storm(she was also in communication during our stay to unsure our comfort), and with the whole house generator we had nothing to worry about. Barnard and the lake offer a respite that allows you to unwind and nourish. We hope our path brings us back soon.

Charming, comfortable and clean house

This lakefront house was perfect for our winter getaway. It is a comfortable house but the decoration, fireplace and it’s layout in general makes it feel cozy. The interior decoration is tasteful and, the kitchen is amazing and well stocked with modern appliances. The pictures in the listing look nice but the property is even nicer.

A truly wonderful vacation house!!!!

We had an absolutely marvelous time in the best vacation rental we have ever stayed in. The house had everything - cozy bedrooms, great kitchen facilities, a dock on a beautiful lake with kayaks, a sauna!, gas fireplace and on and on. All this in a glorious part of Vermont with a cute general store a few feet away and nearby Woodstock with all the restaurants and shops that amazing little town has to offer. Diane was great in communicating and we couldn't have been more pleased. Looking forward to returning in the future!

Wonderful stay, lovely location

We had a wonderful stay in Barnard. The house is fantastic, it has such rich character and the view cannot be beat. Diane was supportive during our whole stay, she was always responsive and knowledgeable about the area. We would highly recommend this location for anyone looking to stay on Silver Lake and hope to return ourselves!
