The upstairs apartment is downtown over a business. It was very noisy from traffic. It is an old building with steep metal stairs. It was convenient to downtown. Was adequately furnished & clean. Beds were comfortable. No view but older buildings & an alley.

The room was very clean and the location was great. The reason for the 3 stars is that the code for our room was given to guests of the other unit in the building. The instructions did not include a code for the front door nor did they mention that the only way in was through the back door. The guests in the other unit unlocked our door and came in later in the evening on our first night. The only way to their unit was through the front and they didn’t have the code either. I messaged the host and never received a response. It was uncomfortable knowing that other people had the code for our unit with all of our stuff inside. Again, the unit was clean and the location was great. I probably would still have given 4 stars had the host responded when we had strangers unexpectedly in our unit late at night.

This is a great location, but it advertised as upstairs with a balcony. There was no balcony - just a landing at the top of the outdoor steps that would even allow for one chair. The one bed was VERY noisy - squeaked with every move, the other one had a marginal mattress - not as firm as hoped for. I recommend gluing the wheel on the coffee table - if we moved it at all it would fall off! It is decorated cute and was clean.

The location was terrific! Being in the heart of Downtown Bardstown, it was accessible to all the distilleries we wanted to travel to. Communication with the host left something to be desired. We arrived after a winter storm left inches of snow and ice up the considerable flight of stairs we needed to access for the rear entrance. To the host's credit, this was remedied not long after notification. Unfortunately, we could not access the tv and overtures to the host for assistance were not responded to. I also requested what the procedures were for check out, and that was unanswered as well. Bedding, towels and toiletries could be upgraded. I was also disappointed the host didn't touch base at all during our stay to inquire how we were enjoying our stay. Bottom line, a "good" stay could have been an "excellent" stay with minimal exertion.

Bed with attached bath was so noisy, occupants could not sleep. Big Issue with WI-FI signal. None existent for our stay. Resulting in no TV. No way to communicate with owner. At least at a hotel someone would have fixed problem. 1st experience with VRBO not good at all.

The description never said it was upstairs, the outside stairs are not in the best shape. And the second bathroom is right off the kitchen, the pix made it see. Like both bathroom are in the bedrooms. This place isn’t for anyone that is older and have a hard time going upstairs. It was close to shops which nice.

Great spot to walk all of downtown. It is an older building and with that comes things like a little slope to the floor. I would go back to Bardstown and stay at the same place.

What a great place! Close to the shops, restaurants and bars downtown Bardstown! Such a quaint little town!We had such a great weekend! Got to bottle our own Angels Envy and toured Michter’s, Willet’s and Buffalo Trace! Didn’t visit the Louisville Slugger Museum this time, but a great tour also!Highly recommend this place! It is on the second floorso if you cannot do steps, find someplace else.

Great location but old and has a smell that you eventually get used to. Back steps look like the metal platform is rusting away from the building and definitely sketchy. I wish the bathrooms had a shelf or something to keep items in other than the back of toilet. The bedroom that has the adjoining bath needs something done about the mattress that crackles every time you move. Also, recliner with peeling vinyl should be replaced. For the money, it was a good value and we were able to walk to many places. Not sure if I would rent this place again though

Great location downtown, walkable to shops, restaurants, bars. Friendly community. Short drives to distillaries as well. Apartment was exactly as.expected,.very clean, cute. Loved they had coffee and pancake fixings. Great stay!

I would like to address several safety and condition concerns regarding this apartment. The staircase at the back of the property is approximately 90% detached from the building, with narrow and steep steps. The spindles on the stairs are repurposed staves and require maintenance. Inside, we observed four cradles intended to hold smoke detectors; however, none were present. When inquiring with the owners, they indicated uncertainty regarding the presence of smoke detectors, noting they thought they had installed some but would verify with the cleaner. Additionally, there are no carbon monoxide detectors installed. The pipes for the shower in the clawfoot tub are not secured; when I used support to exit, one of the pipes detached. Regarding disclosures, several issues were not mentioned in the listing. One of the bedrooms lacks a functioning ventilation system; a box fan was placed in the room, and with the fan running, the temperature reached 85F. The door to this room has no lock and does not fit properly, leaving a significant gap. The second bedroom also lacks a lock, and the bathroom within that bedroom has no door. The second bathroom does not have a functional lock. The kitchen features a small island with two fragile stools, making it difficult for a group of four to sit comfortably for conversation or meals. The photos show a television in one of the bedrooms; however, it has been removed, leaving only a mounting bracket behind. The interior has an unpleasant odor,

Perfect location and well kept property for our quick stay in Bardstown. Loved that the property was right in the heart of downtown
