Shady Pines - modern mountain home near winery, game table, fire pit

Welcome to Shady Pines, nestled in the trees above Banner Elk. Guests are only 1.5 miles from the Banner Elk Winery and Villa and only 10 minutes to the town of Banner Elk.

This modern mountain home is the perfect retreat for a small group, sleeping eight guests. While the last 1/4 mile is a steep, gravel road, once you arrive, the parking area is flat and accommodates three or four cars easily. There is a single step to enter the main level. Once inside, you'll see the beautiful windows and view in the living room, where the leather sofa sits by the gas fireplace. The home features both smart TVs and SkyBest TV, so you can watch your favourite sports or movies. Beautiful tongue and groove ceilings bring a touch of the mountains inside. The dining is to the side, near the kitchen. The table boasts seating for everyone, comfortably holding eight guests. The kitchen centers on the granite island with oven.

The main level has a large King suite with a TV. Attached is a bathroom featuring a tiled shower and a spacious double granite vanity. Upstairs is an open loft with seating and a bedroom with two twin beds. There is a full bathroom upstairs with a combination tub/shower with jets and a granite vanity. The lower level has a second living area and two more bedrooms. Each bedroom is a Queen with ceiling fan with a private door to the Jack and Jill bathroom. This is a tiled shower with double granite vanity. In the lower level is a large sectional for TV viewing plus an air hockey table and board games. The laundry center is also on the lower level with a full washer and dryer for guest use.

The home has two levels of outdoor decks, with the main level including a table and chairs, gas grill, and view of Grandfather Mountain. Step out to the lower deck and enjoy the seating and peace. On the main level grounds there is a fabulous fire pit with Adirondacks surrounding it.

-Check In is after 4pm. Check out is by 10am.
-AWD/4WD is required for this home year round. In times of snow or ice, chains may also be necessary. The last 0.4 miles is a one way, gravel road with a steep incline.
- Firewood for the fire pit may be added at the time of booking under "Additional Fees" after entering payment info or by reaching out to us more than a week in advance. You get two wrapped bundles and a firestarter for $25/night.
- Please note that the distances shown on VRBO's map feature are measured in a straight line rather than actual road travel distances and times. We cannot change their setting for this, and encourage all guests to independently verify distances to desired destinations.

CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 60+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 31-59 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 30 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
