Higher Ground at Eagles Nest invites you to experience the mountains the way they were meant to be enjoyed â slow mornings with coffee in the crisp mountain air, evenings gathered around the fire, and days spent reconnecting with the people who matter most. Tucked inside the prestigious Eagles Nest community near Banner Elk, this luxury mountain retreat blends upscale comfort with warm, inviting spaces designed for making memories together.
Step inside to soaring vaulted ceilings, expansive windows, and a stunning floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace anchoring the great room. Whether you're curled up on the comfortable seating watching a movie, sharing stories by the fire after a day of adventure, or simply soaking in the natural light pouring through the windows, the main living space instantly feels like home. The open-concept layout flows seamlessly into the dining area and kitchen, making it easy for everyone to stay connected â from pancake breakfasts at the island to wine-filled dinners around the table set for eight. The spacious kitchen is thoughtfully appointed with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and the essentials needed to prepare everything from simple snacks to holiday feasts.
Just off the main living area, the primary king suite offers a peaceful escape with vaulted tongue-and-groove ceilings, deck access, a mounted TV, and a spa-like private bath featuring double granite vanities, a soaking tub, and a beautifully tiled custom shower. Upstairs, two additional private suites provide comfort and flexibility for your group. The loft adds another welcoming space to unwind with an additional sleeper sofa overlooking the great room below.
Downstairs, the lower-level suite is perfect for families or additional guests, offering a queen bed alongside a twin-over-twin bunk setup. Its spacious ensuite bath includes double granite vanities, a custom tiled shower, and a separate vanity area for added convenience. Just outside the bedroom, the lower-level living room creates the ultimate hangout space with an oversized sectional centered around a large TV and a nearby wet bar ready for movie nights, game days, or late-night conversations.
Outside is where Higher Ground truly shines. The expansive partially covered deck invites you to settle into mountain life with comfortable seating, an outdoor dining area, a propane grill, and a glowing outdoor gas fireplace that makes cool mountain evenings unforgettable. Down below, the hot tub offers the perfect place to relax beneath the stars after a day exploring the High Country, while the beautifully hardscaped fire pit sets the stage for s'mores, laughter, and quiet moments surrounded by the sounds of the mountains.

HOURS: Thur & Fri 4p-10p; Sat 2p-10p; Sun 2p-8p. (Please verify hours directly with the winery, as times may vary seasonally.)
Please note all visitors on premise at the Winery must be 16 years or older with the exception of Sundays. This is strictly enforced.
Guest do not have access to the locked off portion of the Sportsman's Lodge, the Fitness Center, or the Wine & Cigar Bar. That is for member use only.
Additional Notes:
- Firewood may be added at the time of booking or by reaching out to our team 7+ nights before your scheduled arrival. Two wrapped bundles and a firestarter are just $25 and will be delivered to the home.
- This home is not pet friendly. Thank you for not bringing pets to this home.
- Eagles Nest is continually expanding with new homes and amenities. Construction is ongoing throughout the communtiy and Construction noises may be heard 7am-7pm Monday through Saturday.
- Garage is not available for guest use.
- Please be advised that private ATVs are not permitted in the community and will be denied entry at the gates.
- The main roads are plowed in winter, but 4WD or AWD vehicles are required November-March, and chains may also be necessary to access all properties in winter months.
- All stays at Eagles Nest homes have an included amenity fee in order to maintain the luxurious facilities and features in the development.
- Guests are responsible for supplying their own recreational equipment (basketballs, soccer balls, tennis equipment etc.)
- The summer concerts are open to all guests however there may be an admission fee for each person and cash bar for food and drinks.
- All linens and towels provided for your stay.
- Please note that all Eagles Nest homes have internet, but some areas of travel may not have cell reception.
- Returning guests of Higher Ground may receive a 10% discount, not to be stacked with other discounts to the rent.
CANCELLATION POLICY -
Bookings canceled 30+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit.
Bookings canceled between 15-29 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit.
Bookings canceled within 14 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest.
âââââââAll bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
